2009 Ducati Superbike 1098R Bayliss
How many Ducati race fans were yelling those words at their television this year while watching WSB? It has been a frustrating year for Ducati in WSB and it didn’t help to have Bayliss jump on a bike at testing and turn better lap times than their current riders.
This bike of course celebrates Bayliss’s time with Ducati and other than Carl Fogarty, I can’t think of another rider more closely associated with Ducati. The Bayliss replica is a 1098R with a the special Bayliss paint. If my research is correct, no “standard” 1098R’s where brought into the US and only 150 Bayliss replicas made it here (500 hundred were produced in total). In other words, you shouldn’t run into one of these very often.
Details, details:
Selling my 2009 Ducati 1098R Bayliss Edition. Bike is in mint condition, with a few extras installed. Race Exhaust and ECU installed, Pazzo Levers, Carbon Tech rear wheel guard, Motonotion Fork sliders, and a plate kit. Bike comes with factory cover, all books and keys. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and pick up. Please email me if you have any questions. Thanks for looking and good luck.
I don’t know if they sold for it or not but the original MSRP on the bike was almost $45,000. This one is starting at $28,800 with a reserve on. With only 1,600 miles on it I’m going to guess a reserve in the upper 30’s. I have nothing to back it up just thought I throw it out there and see how close I get. Maybe Ducati can’t get him back but you still have a shoot at getting some memorabilia from the Bayliss glory years..
Emmmmmm, shiny!
Excellent bike. I was lucky enough to test the previous year’s 2008 red model (otherwise identical), your readers might be interested in the review if they want to bid on this beauty!
