Italian for gold, “Oro” edition MV Agustas really played up the bling factor. With numerous gold-accented pieces made out of magnesium to save weight, the original models sold for a king’s ransom. They may as well have been made from gold. Fast forward a dozen or so years, and the prices are still higher than average, but not quite so shocking. The good news is that the bikes still look great, and the design has not really aged at all.
From the seller:
I purchased this motorcycle from the orginal owner in November 2006 with just 1700 miles. It was purchased new from Fast By Ferracci and has been serviced at this dealer since new. All records included. Service manual, CD of workshop and parts manual, factory cover , copy of Motorcyclist Magazine with ” Sex for Sale” article about the F4 Oro. Garage kept or in my den at all times, exceptional condition. List price new was $39,500.00. I’ve enjoyed this machine more than any other street motorcycle I’ve owned. Only non-stock item are the FBF bar risers although original items are included. Of all the MV Agusta’s pof the modern era, the original introductory F4 Oro ‘s will be the most sought after, collectible MV out there. The Senna, Ago, CC, etc all have there place, but only the original F4 750cc Oro can claim to be the first and most significant of the Tamburni desgined machines. This motorcycle is in excellent shape and has shows only minor wear from normal usage.
Take a bike that is a low-volume “rare” model – out of the showroom, the MSRP was 40 large. Let someone else enjoy the new car smell for fewer than 10,000 miles, and you could experience the re-birth of MV Agusta magic for 50% (or more) off! Sure, these bikes spiked in price early on, but they have not been too strong in the market as of late. Like the Ducati MH900e or Paul Smart these are likely to appreciate over time, but it will be a long time before they earn back their price when new. The seller is asking $19,950 or best offer for this one. We don’t see that many of these Serie Oro machines on RSBFS, so if this is your particular bag of tea then it is time to jump in. Good Luck!
