A Crescent Creation: 2004 GSXR1000 K4 Rizla John Reynolds Replica
I’ll will keep our current run of nice GSXR’s going with this 2004 special edition from UK Suzuki dealer Crescent Suzuki. These aren’t true “factory” special editions but Crescent has been doing this for the past few years now with some faithful reproductions. Some are mostly cosmetic with an exhaust system and others I’ve seen would have looked at home on the track. What I don’t remember is, if Crescent decided the spec or the customer choose the spec he wanted.
This particular model celebrates John Reynolds winning the BSB championship. 13 were produced and I’m not sure how they settled on that number. Maybe Rizla should have stuck with just BSB instead of throwing money away with that God awful GSVR800 in MotoGP. If the Rizla scheme is a little much, check out the Worx edition. Me like! Worx is the current sponsor for Crescents’ BSB effort.
The copy and the real thing. This particular edition is 98% cosmetic. There is a Yoshimura can and some carbon bits sprinkled in there. If that is a little bland, check out this K1 that is done up quite nicely.
I wonder why one of the larger Suzuki shops hasn’t gotten together with Yoshimura here in the United States and produced something like this for us. Bueller? Bueller? Until that happens you are stuck with a Mladin sticker edition or looking at this one for sale on Ebay UK.
Can we talk Suzuki into a replica of this? I know they did produce a few with Yoshimura/Jomo bodywork for the Japanese market a few years ago.

I still prefer the Team Durex Suzuki paint… 😉
The Crescent GSXR K1 you linked to on gixxer.com is my bike! 😉 Cheers guys!
[…] There are a nauseating amount of Rizla replicas out there but this is one of the few real deals. For several years, Crescent Suzuki offered Rizla replicas to willing UK buyers. I believe the bike could be ordered as stock or exotic as the customer wanted. This one appears to be upgraded quite a bit more than a previous Rizla rep we’ve featured. […]
Hi there,
I have bike 12 of 13 – Oulton Park bike (the only round JR won both races 😀
Yes, you are right, Crescent allowed you to upgrade to your wallet’s limit. Except when I tried to buy the “shotgun” end can, they wouldn’t sell it to me! hahahaha
