For sale is a very unique supersport side car rig.
2016 K1300S with Hannigan Supersport Racing Sidecar.
There is a ton of money invested here: you buy the special Motorsport edition K1300S which sets you back 20 grand. Then you ship it to Kentucky for two grand and pay Hannigan 18 grand for the sidecar, 4 grand for the install, and 2 grand for the paint. Plus taxes of course.
Done right! This is a full out track ready rig with a monkey seat. The bike also has a number of tasteful add-ons such as windscreen, levers, pedals, carbon fiber details, Sergeant saddle with a rear seat cowl lockable storage, stock seat as well, a replacement blue windshield for the sidecar, Akrapovic exhaust, etc.
About $10k invested in raking out the front (the proper way to do it when adding a sidecar), and darksiding both front and rear.
Bike has around 5k Miles. The rig is mint
Car wheel and tire front and rear and matching wheel for the sidecar. If you know sidecars, this is the apex.
You can pay 30+ grand for a Russian Ural which is nothing but a Soviet Era BMW knockoff they slap brembo brakes and some tasteless decals on, with an air cooled 750cc boxer motor with a top speed of 65mph (not recommended), or you can have a properly made sidecar rig from the best sport tourer on the market that’s way safer, faster, better looking, retains value, unique, and always the coolest thing on the lot – guaranteed.

Serious inquiries only. I won’t answer emails without a name and number. No test rides without cash in hand – this rig is a monster.
The price is fair and firm. Thanks.

When Red found this, we knew we had to post it. According to the seller, this set-up is track-ready.
Do we have any readers that have raced with a side car? If so, drop us a comment. Especially if you were the passenger in the side-car! How the heck does that feel?
I looked up side-car racing to check it out… holy *#%!
The sport is part sportbike racing, part acrobatics. Totally nuts!
We have had a few BMW K1300S bikes on the site, but none with a side car.
In 2023 MCN updated their K1300S review, “As a bread and butter bike the K1300S had long been an impressively slick, stable and supersonic fast motorway devourer. Point me at Dusseldorf and I’ll see you there by lunch, unruffled, unflustered, under the clock tower.”
Table for two?
Good luck to the buyer and seller!
At 64 yrs old, I bought the same set up as I’ve had some issues with my legs. A blast to ride. Engineered as a complete unit, not a bolt on. A little bit of a learning curve to operate it smoothly but the shift assist, raked front end and both calipers up front riding one rotor and one on the cart makes it brake incredibly straight. Doesn’t replace my bike, yet, but if it comes to that , I’ll be happy with the ride
I know nothing about these rigs, but that one is done to a remarkably high standard, and certainly looks the business.
Definitely a rig done right. It a a great alternative “family” tourer, can see my wife finally relenting and going on a motorcycle ride with me. However, the price point is definitely up there. This trim level of K13S is around $8-$10k just for the bike on a good day. Though the mods are required to complete set up they do not add anything to the bottom line of the K13S market value. The double edge of any custom is that they cost a ton of money to complete only to take a heavy hit on the market as they enjoy a very limited target audience. Of course, this just my opinion.
Agree with the seller that Ural won’t hold a candle to this set up but the resale values on Urals are surprisingly high and there’s a much greater market for the Urals (all of which is personally an enigma to me).
If I was to test ride it and like it , $18k would be where I can see this rig making sense (to me). BTW, these set ups are much more appreciated in Europe and would command something in the neighborhood of the current asking price.
Trying to understand why they don’t put a leading link fork on the bike. I have always been told that a sidecar rig needs a leading link front fork. Nice rig thou.
