Seller
2009 Midnight Black Buell 1125R in Original Packing Crate for sale.
This is a new never removed from packing crate, never titled Buell 1125R. Might be one of the few, if not the only one, in existence in this condition. Please reviewt he photos. My apologies the pictures aren’t better I’ve been trying to preserve the originality of the packing arrangement in the crate.
After the RMR Geico Racing Team won the 2009 AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike Championship with Danny Eslick riding a Buell 1125R, the Harley-Davidson museum (Buell was owned by Harley-Davidson in 2009) traded the RMR team this new 1125R in the crate for one of the 1125R race bikes Danny Eslick had ridden in the Championship Season. I’m not sure what RMR’s plans were for this bike but it was added to the teams collection in the RMR race shop (upper left corner in last photo) until it was purchased by a private collector in the 2014 timeframe.
This rare Buell 1125R has always been store in a climate controlled environment and is the same condition as when it left the Buell factory with it’s original keys and owner’s manual attached to the bike. It is available with the original Certificate of Origin. A bill of sale can be included if needed.
Winning bidder will be free to inspect the packing crate and Buell prior to final payment.
There is NO Warranty Written or Implied.
Shipping will be at purchaser’s expense. 1125R crate is currently on moving dollys andit may be possible to roll it onto a trailer with a solid ramp but I would recommended a machine with forks for proper loading. This Buell is located in ZIP 60423 (Illinois) in an industrial area for with easy access for transporters.
Please feel free to let me know any questions you have.
Thanks for looking !
For the Harley-lovers out there. We did not forget about you.
Motorcycle.com wrote up the 1125R, “Buell founder and leader, Erik Buell, is an avid racing enthusiast, and in the 1125R he finally has a potent race-worthy machine. Entering the Daytona SportBike class was the first step …. Although the 1125R was developed for street riding, it’s also quite capable on the track.” Kevin Duke goes on to talk about modifications needed for maximum performance, so if you are interested it is worth reading the article.
Our friend William here at RSBFS covered one of these in 2021, “Erik Buell started producing bikes and very quickly developed a reputation for amazing performance and a distinctive package. He was willing to push the envelope and try new and interesting engineering projects. Oil tanks in swingarms, fuel tanks in frames, rotors running around the outside of the wheel, shocks under the engine are just a few to that spring to mind. Early bikes sourced engines from Harley Davidson, but by the late 00’s a Rotax engine was being used.”
Whoever wins the auction will have fun opening up this package.
Good luck to the buyer and seller!
