5.7.2014: This Ago was sold but the buyer backed out. It’s back on eBay now and with pictures of the bike. If you have questions, the owner is participating in the comments. Pictures added, links updated. -dc
The Ago edition of the MV Agusta F4 kicked off the revised model with 1000cc. It is named after Giacomo Agostini, an Italian road racer who won 15 world championships between 1964 and 1977, many of which aboard an MV Agusta. The F4 Ago was limited to just 300 units worldwide and the seller states that only 40 made it to the U.S. With just 40 miles, it’s ready for your living room or museum! Unfortunately the seller has not provided pictures of the actual bike but rather press photos and other collected from the web. With a buy-it-now of $26k, I’d want to see a few snapshots before pulling the trigger!

2005 MV Agusta F4 Ago for sale on eBay
from the seller:
As with any AGO edition, it comes with a set of brand new in box “RG3” slip on performance exhaust with specially anodized tips in Platinum color for this model only, including the performance chip. Books, factory tools, factory MV grip covers, MV factory Red paddock stand.
There are a few extras in addition to what came with the bike: Ordered from MV Performance parts catalog are the carbon rear hugger carbon exhaust shield, carbon rearset-heel guards and a carbon batter box. A brand new in box, factory supplied cat-less racing mid-pipe is also going with the bike. The current raerset heel-guards and the heat shield on the bike are the factory carbon fiber ones, which were just mentioned. I no longer have the metal parts. It also has clear fuel tank side protectors.
Bike has been regularly started to maintain the healthy internals and to prevent gaskets from drying out. It also has a new battery which is on trickle charger. Oil had been refreshed as well, even though bike was sitting.
Why not just get a 2014 F4RR Abs for pretty much the same money?
Agreed!! And I own an Ago! Lol
He is never going to get that amount though.
Should be priced at around $18,000.
They are an amazing bike!
Cheers
Well, Why not buy a brand new Ferrari 458 Italia with so much performance instead of spending several millions on an old Ferrari with older technology??? Man, I wish everything was that simple…
I thought the seller had mentioned that pictures of the bike will be provided upon request!! Oh well.
Jack,
Are you the owner? I’d be happy to share the pictures here if you’d like.
Thanks,
dc
Hi Dan,
I don’t know Jack.R, but I’m the owner. Thanks for your nice suggestion to add pictures. Bike was sold and paid for already and left tonight. The buyer was absolutely shocked to see the fact that bike was as new as I had advertised it to be. It sold for close to “Buy it now”, I was asking for, so it’s good news for Hwood851, who owns one of these AGO bikes as well and thought that I was dreaming to ask that much for the bike. I miss it already!!!
Regards, S
…and the moral of the story is: there will always be someone who wants what you have and is prepared to pay the price regardless of what other so-called “experts” have to say from their lounge chair.
Well, the sale fell through!! No miles were put on the bike by the so called new owner, so that’s why I’m accepting it back out of being nice, not from the lawfulness of it. I don’t want to have a unhappy energy following me! Sold items means they’re sold, period. It was the fact that the new owner didn’t know that this bike had received a new fuel pump and the inside of the tank had been coated and with new fuel lines installed! Well, I guess it will go back on ebay and this time at even higher price.
Regards, S
Good luck Stephano, a beautiful machine. Frankly most people who own a bike like that can afford to wait.
Tim,
Thank you for your kind words and support. I do appreciate that.
I don’t know if “No Red cover!” means the special Ago bike cover that is supposed to come with the bike, but redundancy aside it should have it. Near impossible to replace if your a stickler for that kind of stuff.
Also, it should come with a set of MV Agusta Overalls. These could take a while to source out but not impossible to find.
That being said, IMHO the second nices MV ever produced (Tamburini is still #1 to me, with the ’02 Senna in 3rd), and one of the most stunning motorbikes ever produced! To ride and cosset over!
Obviously I’m partial due to ownership. Lololol
Whoever ends up with it will LOVE IT !!!
Cheers
Hwood851,
Yes, you’re correct; the special AGO cover is what I don’t have and it has been misplaced somewhere. I know how to have one made fairly easy. The AGO cover is identical to what can be ordered from MV dealers, but without the Yellow number 1 on each side. I am aware of more than one place that can recreate the identical size/color logo design of such, using heat adhesive method to print that on each side, just as how factory did it. As for the overalls, I know of two other owners, one in Chicago and the other one in Bay area, who never received theirs as their bikes were also the last of the productions with late serial numbers! I love these beautiful babies as well as you do, but unfortunately I will need to let go of some of my bikes. 🙁
