Best Used Sportbike
In 2013 Cycle World declared the Honda RC51 to be the best used sportbike on the market. “After winning numerous World and AMA Superbike titles during the 1980s and early ’90s, Honda grew tired of playing bridesmaid to Ducati and decided to build a V-Twin repli-racer of its very own, the RC51.
That effort proved worthwhile. Before it was all over, the RC51 had won two World Superbike championships (2000, 2002) with Colin Edwards, as well as the ’02 AMA Championship under Nicky Hayden.”

The RC51 is quite special. It’s equipped with a 999cc V-twin engine that’s known for its solid mid-range torque and a distinctive exhaust note.
It is rumored that only 2000 of these were imported to the US in the year 2000. A recent article from Cycle World When Big Red Played the V-Twin Superbike Game states “the RC51 was an instant hit with sportbike fans. Its booming exhaust note was its own sound, distinctly different from the Ducati twins, and decidedly unlike any other Japanese production bike.”
It’s a piece of motorcycling history, reminding us of the era when Honda took on Ducati in the World Superbike Championship. It’s part of the evolution of superbikes.
Only 7,339 miles and in mint condition – they are asking $14,999.00. This bike has been stored inside and well maintained.
According to Paul at Nault Powersports in NH, Nicky Hayden and Miguel Duhamel were in his shop when they signed the bike over 20 years ago. Check out the photos below. Paul is very familiar with this bike since he is the first owner, so give him a call if you are interested.
In the meantime if anyone has experience riding one of these, please share your thoughts.
