Amongst the early versions of the RS250, many consider the Max Biaggi Chesterfield replica the one to have. While the RS250 has little actual crossover to the race machine, the experience and visual is as close as many of us will get. Plus this one has a plate, so it can actually be enjoyed on the road.
1995 Aprilia RS250 for sale on eBay
This particular example is one of the cleanest and low mileage examples we’ve seen in a while. All the decals look perfect, which is saying something since they were applied on top of the clear coat and tend to dog ear and fade with use. And after scanning the rest of the pictures, there isn’t any apparent wear anywhere on this machine.
Seller describes importation by a prominent collector who passed it to another apparent collector, and now it for sale by a dealer in Oregon. His description doesn’t give alot of detail on the model but you can read more about the RS250 in our archives for greater detail on the model.
quote from the seller:
This is was a new one to me as I had never heard of the 1995 RS250 Max Biaggi/Chesterfield Racing Replica until it’s owner brought it in for us to sell. I had ridden the 250 Club Racers back in 2004 or there about at Sears, but that was a track only bike designed for a spec class that sort of feel through the cracks (what ever happened to it?). The 250’s were never imported for street use that I know of. There are thousands of people who know more about this bike then I do and I hope to hear from them if there is anything incorrect.
It was imported by a well known collector in the Ventura area, one of the larger current Italian Motorcycle Collections in the country, to be part of his rare and exotic herd of bikes. It was hardly ridden while in his custody but he did manage to find a full set of Arrow Expansion Chambered Race Exhaust Systems, hard to find even in Europe and numerous Carbon Fiber replacement parts including the Front Fender and the Seat Cowl. In a moment of weakness, the bike was sold to the present owner who had done tuning and some suspension work on the collection. The bike was ridden a bit and the total distance covered today sits at 2450 kilometers (1,516 miles).
I got a chance to ride the bike, but you have to know that it looked pretty silly, my being of a large frame and not as svelte as I was 40 years ago. It took a bit to warm up, but a ride on the back road to Rogue River answered all of those questions. OMG!!!- is it fun. You think about changing direction and it has already happened. The bike is so light and the gyroscopic effect from the Two Stroke engine so minimal, it feels like an extension of your mind.
Good luck to buyers and seller — it could be some time before you see another on this nice for sale!

This looks like a great example. Is there a comprehensive guide to which US states allow two strokes? Can this be registered in NY?
Black is the fastest color for Aprilias…
