Reliability and Performance
In June of 2016 Marty covered a ’93 VFR here on RSBFS stating, “While reliability was a focus, the performance side of the VFR750 was nothing to sneeze at. The VFR’s handling was on a par with the best superbikes of the day. A stock VFR finished eighth at the Suzuka 8-Hour race and another nearly stock version finished in 3rd place at the Donnington park Trophy race against competition that included the legenday Kevin Schwantz. The Honda VFR 750 offerred bulletproof reliability and performance that measured up to all but the most performance-oriented bikes of the time. It should come as no surprise that the VFR would in later years become a big sales success, win bike of year numerous times in the mid to late 1990’s and was even crowned sportbike of the decade by numerous motorcycling publications.”

While perusing the internet to get an idea of what these are going for, I found one up for auction in 4 days, with the current bid just over $4k at BaT with no reserve. If you have been looking for this bike, now you have two to consider.
The single-sided swing arm always seemed exotic and a gear-driven-cam V4 Honda motor is legendary.

I had a red 94 VFR great bike, but the one I really wanted was a white 93 like this one, very cool! Very hard to find a 93 in this condition. Gear driven cams with 105-110 HP what’s not to like?
Gear driven cams to this day are special. What a sound they make. And it doesn’t get classier than that faired kickstand.
Even for a 30 year old bike, all it needs is gold valves in the fork and it won’t leave you wanting.
These are indeed bomb proof. I had a friend who put over 200K kilometres on his, which is over 100K miles, and the thing was still going strong.
This feels kind of sketchy tbh – maybe I’m spoiled by BAT’s listings, but there’s a definite lack of detail in both the description and the pics. Yes, these are great bikes – but a more appropriate question is, is *this* a great buy?
