Update 4.13.2014: Having failed to sell in it’s first auction with a high bid of $5800, the RZ350 is back on eBay with a high bid of $5100 and over 4 days remaining. Links updated. -dc
Readers of this site are no strangers to the cult classic RZ350, but this Canadian import is a bit different with it’s full fairing and very blue paint scheme. I went through our archives and we’ve only posted these a handful of times, and most were still in Canada whereas this one is titled in Texas. Showing just 7200 miles on the clock, this example has obviously been well looked after in it’s 25 years judging from the pictures (available in high resolution in the gallery below) and is stated as garaged it’s entire life.

from the seller:
1989 Yamaha RZ350 Canadian import bike. Clean Texas Title in hand. Perfect condition bike. Recently serviced and tuned. No scratches or dents. 9.9 out of 10. This one is a collectors bike. It has 11601 km (7208 miles) on it. Never ridden in the rain. Garaged it’s entire life with me. Time to move and no room for this one. Sad to see it go.
Lot of nice stock parts on the bike and a great looking ride but not completely stock.
Foot pegs, chain guard and that weird black brace above and behind the clocks.
Hate to say it but I’ve also never seen one with the inside of the front fairing painted body colour either. Stock is black.
Love to see the price it’s bringing though!
I’ve got the same bike with 12,000 kms (completely stock) and in nicer condition.
Funny… I also don’t have all that sand blast type wear on the lower chin either and I have more kms…. hmmmm
I’d want to check this one out personally before I made a bid.
I was really drooling over this bike until I read your comments 🙁 Maybe there are black plastic covers inside the fairing that’s missing. He has it listed on craigslist also at $10K . I don’t think he’ll get it. And he probably won’t trade me for a minty RZ350 Y/B Kenny Roberts
Jim, I’m just pointing out a few things that I as a buyer would have major questions about. In the pictures it looks not too bad. I’m kind of surprised at the light rust or dirt, for garage kept you would think it would be cleaner or that he would take the time to present it properly but…
No there are no missing black covers. This was late 80’s, on most full faired inexpensive bikes things were pretty basic. This is the first one where I have seen the inside of the fairing painted. And I have definitely never seen that brace over the clocks before. And when stock pegs and chain guards are missing… my mind whirls at the why’s.
Personally, if your Y/B Roberts bike is minty, it’s a more desirable machine. Last one available for sale in US, “signature ,model. and many prefer the naked look and I got to say that Y/B combo rocks! One of the best looking machines of it’s day!
Don’t let me scare you away from it. I just personally wouldn’t buy it without seeing it in person. The few non-stock items are minor and can be replaced. Front fairing will cost you a few bucks but…
