Donn covered a ’72 Kawasaki H2 750 Mach IV on RSBFS in 2018. He likened it to the Chevy’s Z28 Camaro, in that the H2 is a model that creeps back into Kawasaki’s line-up occasionally. Back in 2013 Dan found one for RSBFS stating that, “The H2, dubbed the Widowmaker in it’s day, was literally a scary fast motorcycle. Notrious for big wheelies and dangerous handling, it’s still a machine that needs to be treated with respect.”
Neither of the two covered in our past were as rare as this one that our friend Bob is brining to the auction house. Bob’s H2 is a Denco King Cobra model with only 23 miles. See his seller’s description below for some more info.
COMING OUT OF MY PERSONAL COLLECTION OF OVER 100 VINTAGE AND RARE MOTORCYCLES IS MY VERY RARE MULTIPLE AWARED WINING 1974 KAWASAKI DENCO KING COBRA CR 120 H2 750 TRIPLE 2 STROKE MACH IV.
THIS BIKE HAS BEEN FULLY RESTORED TO ITS ORIGINAL BEAUTY.
IN THE 1970’S KAWASAKI COLLABORATED WITH WITH DENNIS DEAN OF DENCO INDUSTRIES, INC. TO PRODUCE A SMALL AMOUNT (70?) OF THE AMAZING KAWASAKI/DENCO CR120’S TO MEET THE RACING REQUIREMENTS.
THIS BIKE HAS ALL THE CORRECT DENCO CR 120 HIGH PERFORMANCE PARTS. THIS ORIGINAL MATCHING NUMBER ENGINE WAS BORED TO 800CC’s, THE HEAD MILLING, CYLINDER PORTING/MACHINE WORK ALL APEARS TO BE WHAT DENCO DID IN THE 70’s. WITH JUST A FEW ADDITIONAL MODIFICATIONS… EURO STYLE TURN SIGNALS, UPGRADED IGNITION AND CHARGING SYSTEM, MATT FINISH ON THE RIMS AND BETTER TIRES.
THE BIKE LOOKS, STARTS, RUNS, IDLES, AND RIDES BETTER THEN IT DID IN 1974!!!
Looking around the web for more info I read the wiki page and found that, “More than any other model, it created Kawasaki’s reputation for building what motorcycle journalist Alastair Walker called, “scarily fast, good-looking, no holds barred motorcycles”, and led to a further decline in the market place of the British motorcycle industry”
Who is going to own this piece of motorcycle history next?
Good luck to the buyer and seller!

Let the posts begin about how you barely managed to stay alive when riding a “widow-maker” H2 Kawasaki 750. BaT usually has lots of these “horror” stories every time one is up for auction..
It wasn’t so much what these bikes did, it was more how they did it allied to all the things they didn’t do, such as stopping, cornering, steering etc
that marked them out; the quarter mile was their strong point.
an alcoholic approach to gasoline was another strong feature.
Chassis design was an oxymoron at the time in corporate Japan
Smaller front wheel, longer rear shocks and better suspension bushings/bearings are said to tame the handling of the 500 triples.
