Claudio Castiglioni was a young man when the venerable MV Agusta motorcycle brand was mothballed in 1980, and the company concentrated on their helicopter business. Several years and many successes later, Castiglioni, as a principle of Cagiva, bought the rights to the name, and set to work reviving the brand. The brilliantly performing F4 750S was the new company’s first design, penned by Massimo Tamburini, with engineering help from Ferrari. This example is basically unused with only 294 miles.
2000 MV Agusta F4 750S for sale on eBay
Central to the F4 750’s performance is the radial valve arrangement, Ferrari’s chief contribution to the bike. Fuel injection is courtesy of a Weber / Marelli partnership. A middleweight with 126 hp, the 750S has a steel trellis frame but uses cast connectors at the attachment points for the single-sided swingarm. The front suspension is Showa 49mm inverted forks, triple adjustable. Brakes are bespoke Nissin 6-piston calipers over 310mm disks, and 210mm rear. The sound system is 4-1-2-4, foreshadowing a hallmark for the brand.
The owner must have taken care with how the bike was stored, it’s immaculate and seems to be without fault. From the eBay auction:
You are bidding on a basically brand new 2000 MV 750 F4. It has 294 miles but is still on it’s MSO from MV as it has never been titled. It has a new battery and metal fuel disconnects other than that it is exactly as it arrived from MV. It was stored with aviation fuel so there were never any stale fuel issues. It starts, runs and works just as it should. It comes with it’s original manuals, tools and paperwork.I’ve had many questions regarding the title. As I said in the ad the bike is still on it Manufacturers Statement of Origin meaning the same document that the dealer gives to the DMV in any state. There should be no other taxes or penalties (other than what your state charges for registration) The bike was never registered because it was really never used except for the 294 miles that were put on when still new in 2000.
Tested as thrilling ride and beautifully built, the new MV made a cameo appearance in the 2004 film i, Robot, and plenty of dreams. The exotic price and racey riding position has ensured they are rarely seen with lots of miles. Also hard to fully exercise on the street since 80 mph arrives in 2nd gear. Not many corners were cut in design and construction of the F4 750S, and the new owner will have an uncompromising example as well.

Radial valve arrangement was claimed to be from Ferrari, but is found in every Honda XR/XL dirt bike since the 1980s. (wink)
Nicest styling around over the past decade found on these Agustas IMO. Plus the F3 followed the amazing triple powerplant which everyone should ride to appreciate…
Not a ‘Serie Oro’? I mean, if you’re gonna store an MV F4 in bubble wrap for 15 years…
BTW, are flat-spotted tires the Motorcycle equivalent of bedsores? Does being trapped indoors make them sad?
Still a beautiful ride though. Even after 15years and some weird directions form Zagato, no one has made a similarly positive leap in Superbike styling since this came out – IMO (Panigale for a close second).
One of the best ever styling wise…top 5.
