While not totally original, a 1700 mile CBR400RR is a rare sight in the states. It has some minor wear detailed by the pictures and a handful of new panels, an aftermarket pipe, and some frame sliders. The frame has also been painted which will require some detective work to determine if it’s to cover up accident damage. Finally there is no mention of a plate. The good news though is that the seller is being realistic as the reserve is off and the current bid is just under $2300! To my mind that makes this a great track day buy, or even street if you live in a state with a friendly DMV department.

Listing said nothing about title status. What are the chances it has one?
Anyone take advantage of the Vermont registration / title loophole?
Can’t say I know alot about these bikes . However I find them very cool , they are cheap to plate and insure here in my province (Quebec) of Canada , and I love the redline on this bike ….insane ! Will have to addon oe to my collection one day….hopefully soon ! 🙂
I owned one of these in the same color scheme while I was living in Japan. I paid $250 USD for it, which is a story onto itself!
It was a fun, fun bike, but hard on the back and knees if you are over 6 ft. Otherwise, it was very reliable and there are lots of aftermarket upgrades available (Google “Goobike.jp” and surf to the NC29/CBR400RR category to see what I am talking about).
One thing that appears to be missing are the actual ram air tubes that route from near the side panels to the area under the tank. In one of the picture, it appears that someone stuffed a sponge in the inlet area to keep out the dust. Along with the black frame paint, I would also be asking about this detail if I were serious about the bike. On the plus side, however, the KMs are very low compared to most of the others I have seen that have made it to the U.S.
