Welcome to What We’re Watching. This feature highlights some of the auctions we are following – especially those that are about to close. Handy if you’re curious about where values are going, or just want to snipe in at the last minute to score a deal!
This is what is HOT right now:
1994 KAWASAKI ZXR250
This super sano quarter liter rocketship is as minty as they come. As a bonus, it is also house trained! Not many of these bikes found their way out of Japan, and only a handful exist in North America. If you have the desire to wring 45 HP out of this baby Ninjette, not many riders will be able to hang with you on a tight, twisty track. Jump quickly, as it will be gone by midday on the West Coast.
1983 Bimota HB3
Posted here on RSBFS last October, this very clean HB3 is still looking for a forever home. With the hallmark trellis frame of the early Bimotas, the HB3 was powered by a Honda CB1100 engine – and limited to just 101 units. This is number 25. Few exist in this kind of condition today, and we rarely see these models on RSBFS. The flagship bike in your Bimota collection awaits you here. By Sunday it will be gone.
1994 Magni Moto Guzzi Racer
Also posted late last year on RSBFS, this super-rare Guzzi racer is still available – for a few more hours at least. Check out staffer Donn’s write-up on it here to familiarize yourself with this particular breed of unicorn. Hand crafted with the sole goal of homologation for racing, this bike appears to have been spared from track abuse. Probably one of the best looking Italian sport bikes ever made. See it here before it disappears again!
If you like what you see, move quickly. Every auction listed above will closed by tomorrow – at the latest. Don’t forget to sign up for our free email service, and never miss a great deal on a rare bike again. Good luck and happy sniping!
ZXR250 – listing ended early
Moto Guzzi Magni – NO sale at $12,376 high bid
Bimota HB3 – SOLD for $20,000
Congratulations to the new owner !
Raced against a Magni Guzzi at Daytona Battle of Twins on my Duc 750SS back in the day. We had almost identical top speeds – around 145 mph according to AHRMA’s radar gun. Was setting him up for a drafting pass when one of my CDI boxes gave up the ghost. But I remember thinking, “Man, that’s a good-looking bike!” Fairing looks awesome, but cooling looks a little dubious for street use.
Thanks for the cool story, Flying G!
