Incorporating design features that had been years in development, Aprilia’s 2003 offering to the Superbike segment was available in a commemorative livery of Noriyuki Haga’s ’02 WSBK season. On offer is a barely used example from the last year of production before the change to the RSV-R, complete with soft bags and stands.
2003 Aprilia RSV 1000 Mille Haga Commemorative for sale on eBay
Aprilia’s archetypal 60-degree twin has great great power and torque numbers (128 hp / 76 ft.-lbs.), as well as a balance shaft helping reliability and comfort. A new transmission was commissioned for 2003, with taller first gear and closer ratios elsewhere. A great deal of artistry went into the frame, aluminum twin spars welded to cast alloy hubs. It’s a big roomy machine, with lots of protection behind the full endurance fairing. Fully adjustable 43mm Showa forks are matched to a Sachs monoshock, which has progressive linkage to the aluminum swingarm. Brakes are radially mounted Brembo Gold Line, 320mm rotors in front with 220mm rear.
Looking excellent save one scuff on the Akropovic muffler, this Mille has just over 4,000 miles. From the eBay auction:
Only 4250 miles…practically brand new! Haga replica.
One owner, never dropped or down, meticulously cared for, spotless except for a small blemish on exhaust otherwise looks factory new and always turns heads.
EXTRAS – Front and rear stands, battery tender, $600 Arai Vector Haga Replica helmet size L with mirrored visor, solo seat cover (installed) and passenger seat – (30 seconds to switch out). Two Teknic saddlebags for carrying more gear.
This bike has a 998 cc V-twin with plenty of power. Sachs adjustable rear shock, Brembo brakes, slipper clutch, and reduced weight.
’03 updates from Aprilia included a more aerodynamic front fender, trimmed seat fairing, and 2-into-1 exhaust. Aprilia’s Pneumatic Power ( slipper ) Clutch is also welcome standard equipment on the big twin. Nice to have pit stands included, and while the soft bags would be great for a longer trip, the helmet will have to be checked for a relatively recent build unless it’s going on the shelf.
Reviewed as a remarkably able sportbike, the Mille in Haga livery is a fitting tribute to a great rider, and the RSV’s long term developments helped Aprilia eventually add WSBK Championships to their many MotoGP wins.

Looks as if it has floating rather than radial calipers, but good write up other that. Still see Mickey Mouse every time I look at one of these.
Huh? The calipers are radial. And calipers can’t be “floating,” only discs can be “floating.” Couldn’t they have made the muffler any bigger? LOL!
A typical 2003 RSV1000R would have come equipped with radial-mount calipers, rather than axial (not floating) although it doesn’t appear this is an R spec bike — odd for a racer replica to be made off the base platform.
That is a 2002 standard Mille, not an ’03 Haga. replica. The ’03s had a different tail section and the Haga version was satin black with WSB race bike replica Playstation graphics, OZ wheels, Ohlins suspension, and carbon parts.
This is a base model 2002 that someone put a sticker kit on. It is not the R model Haga that Aprilia produced.
I guess that makes it a replica of a Haga replica. Or is it a replica of a Haga commemorative? Or a commemorative of a Haga replica? Confused!
No, the calipers are not radial.
I bought a ’02 Haga 3 years ago for next to nothing with 5k miles on it. The bike was purchased for the previous owner by his parents. He had no idea how rare and special the bike was.
One heck of a fine machine.
