Normally we wouldn’t bother with a non running bike with a single picture but not every project bike is a VFR750R, now is it?
You know what they are and how much they sell for so lets get the story:
Bike is complete. Was disassembled by Honda mechanic to repair spun bearing. The tech was unfamiliar with this model and the bike was pulled from the shop. It has been stored inside and has only 1400 miles on it. As any motorcycle enthusiast knows this is an extremely rare find. Please note the vin#. This bike is #35 in production. Never raced. Need to be reassembled by proper technician. All parts for repair and assembly included, minus marcesinni wheel, it has stock wheels on it now.
Get out that calculator, talk to your friends in the know and make that decision: money pit or great deal?
It’s got a $17,500 BIN and a best offer option.

And sold… a risk, but potentially an absolute steal at that price.
……GREAT DEAL!!!!!
10k under market? All it Need’s is a bearing? And a real mechanic couldn’t fix it? With the original wheels sold to a neighbor…. I’d like to be closer than NY to see that before I bought it.
RC30 engines aren’t the easiest engines to work on and many parts are NLA, including the oem engine gasket kits. It will probably need a new piston rod (titanium), if that was the bearing that spun, and it doesn’t say that’s included. If the bearing that spun did damage to the crank, that will need to be addressed too. And… if one bearing spun, that usually means that it was starved for oil which is very easy to do on a stock RC30. It even says it in the manual that you should check the oil level before every ride as it’s designed to burn oil with the dual ring piston setup. So, if it was starved for oil, you can bet there is probably damage elsewhere… perhaps on all rod/bearing surfaces…? It is possible and these rods have a special coating on them which is unable to be re-applied/repaired. The rod must be replaced with OEM or aftermarket steel rods. So it’s a HUGE gamble… one I wouldn’t take that that price. Also, there are not enough pics to prove to me that the rest of the bike is clean. Big risk here…..
The real risk here is ebay. What sort of idiot bids/buys something like this without going to see the item, going right over it,talking with the owner,etc..Ebay sucks!!!
Machines are meant to run, It sounds like a enthusiast with a proper bank roll got hold of it.
It IS a bit of a crapshoot, but while it’s a lot of money, the price is a pretty comfortable $10,000 less than typical. That leaves a whole lot of meat on the bone to fix a motor. Still, I’d definitely pick the bike up and pay in person to avoid nasty surprises.
Dagum. Still a lot of jack for a busted bike…
If i had known, would of bought it. I guess someone else moved fast to get it.
Bike is #35 in production but has Marchesini rear and later model ‘red wing’ tank………….’never raced !’…………Mmmmmmmmmm
