Mint 1980 Ducati 900SS Bevel Drive in GA
Are those 888 SPO’s becoming to common place for you? How about a little old school Ducati? I came across this nice example down in my neck of the woods. The seller states the bike has only 7,606 miles on it and the bike is all original. I imagine being unrestored, this bike would have some serious appeal to Ducati collectors. Too bad this is a Craigslist ad because this bike crys out for some nice hi res pictures.
From the seller:
1980 DUCATI 900SS (bevel drive) Desmo. Only 7606 miles. This is the real deal original black and gold!
I’ve had this bike since 1985 and it was never my regular ride hence the low mileage. It is original with all receipts and paperwork. I’m not going to go into much detail about the specs, a real Ducati enthusiast knows the history and appeal of this bike.
Take a look
As usual I’m curious what this bike actually sells for. It appears to be in really nice shape and is unrestored. On the other hand I don’t think the 1980 900SS is quite as sought after as maybe the 75-78 models. Apparently serious Ducatists prefer the spoke wheels and more angular tank’s for the earlier models. I don’t think that will hold too many people back on a clean, low mile example like this. Take a look here.

Is that the quickest sale in history or is the link incorrect? What a beautiful bike! It is true that the earlier Borrani rimmed versions are more sought after, particularly the 75 and 78 versions, but the black and gold ones are really gorgeous as well. Anyone know what this one sold for? Presuming it sold…
Yeah, it looks like the bike either sold or the owner changed his mind. Unfortunately with Craigslist there is no way to tell what it sold for.
Is this still for sale
