You will have seen a short time ago a posting of an original race bike that was tagged in Florida. If riding risky is not your thing then here we have a Replica Cup bike that is fully street legal and looks the part to boot. The Boxer Cup was a one make race series sponsored by BMW for the Boxer twin and the replica cup bikes were meant to be a road going example. As with any sports bike this example has been chipped and the exhaust done to get more power form the engine. Less than 300 were imported into the USA so there is a good chance you won’t stumble across another at bike night. This is a twin spark bike making 98hp and 78 ft/lbs of torque, when stock, all run through BMW’s 6 speed box with low 6th ratio. By utilizing front fork tubes from the R1150GS, the chassis of the 2005 Replika is raised by 12mm, thus allowing for a greater lean angle. Seat height on the 2005 Boxer Cup Replika is 860 mm (33.9 inches). SO you may want to check your leg length as it is tall to ensure the cylinder heads don’t scrape the tarmac.
The owner shares the following few words:
Beautiful 2005 BMW R1100S Boxer Cup Rep. Arguably the best, and the best looking, of the BCR’s, this one is in beautiful condition. Dealer maintained, with all service records to accompany bike.Catalytic converter removed, and the bike is equipped with performance chip for extra performance. Original exhaust and chip will be included with bike. Carbon fiber tank center panel added. Original blue panel will also come with bike. Mechanically outstanding. Dealer performed 12000 mile service before the start of the riding season. Cosmetically beautiful, with only one minor flaw. Right side carbon fiber valve cover with nicked when he was moving the bike in the garage. The actual metal valve cover was undamaged. Replace it if it bothers you, or repair it with a little epoxy. Or do what I did- leave it! I’ve owned the bike a little over 3 years and only put 4000 miles on it. Time to let someone else enjoy this bike and ride it as often as it should be ridden!
And if you fancy your chances the auction on eBay is here.
The Buy It Now price is set at $6250, which seems somewhat of a bargain as the engine only has just over 11,000 miles on it as they often command upwards of $8000 with examples going for over $10,000. Fancy something different in your garage then go ahead and make a bid.
