7,011 miles on a 33 year old collector bike is right in the sweet spot, enough to know it’s been ridden and not just parked, not so much that it’s lost its “showroom kept” claim.
The Superlight story is a good one. Ducati only planned on building 500 of these when the 900SS got the special treatment in 1992, then demand pushed the run up toward 900 total, with roughly 300 of the yellow bikes making it stateside. This one wearing #875 puts it deep into that run.
What you’re actually getting for the extra money over a standard 900SS: 17 inch Marvic wheels, carbon fiber fenders, a solo seat, and a fully floating rear brake, all shaving close to 25 pounds off the dry weight. Same 904cc air cooled desmo L-twin underneath, same frame, just lighter and rarer.

“Showroom kept” plus low miles is a good combination, but it’s still worth asking for service history. Belts and valve clearances don’t care how few miles are on the clock, they care about calendar years.
