2004 “Capirex” Ducati Monster 620
Affordable exclusivity! I know it doesn’t have a fairing but at least it has a number plate. I thought this was a pretty cool little bike when I saw it and it is nice to see a limited edition Ducati that is affordable to the masses. If you are a Capirossi fan then you probably are in heaven, he certainly isn’t nowadays on that slug Suzuki (I’m a Suzuki fan). This little Monster was produced to celebrate his first year in MotoGP riding for Ducati.
Here is what you get with this “Capirex” Monster:
This pristine machine is one of only 300 made by Ducati and dedicated to Loris Capirossi, the renowned Italian racer who had just wrapped up his outstanding first year in MotoGP with Ducati. Only 65 of these were shipped to the US! This one has only 9804 miles, and had only one owner until just three months ago, when I bought it (I’m now selling due to an excess of Ducs in the garage!). Always pampered, garaged, and meticulously kept. Never raced or laid down. All service records are available.
Special Features of the Capirex:
- Double-sided aluminium swingarm
- Carbon fiber front fender/mudguard
- Carbon fiber panels
- Carbon fiber silencer head guards
- Raised riding position higher than the M620
- Height-adjustable rear axle
- 6 gears
- Bikini fairing
- Rear seat cowl
- White stripe (a-la Monster S4R)
- Commemorative Number 65 on fairing and cowl
Modifications:
- Full Termignoni Exhaust and ECU
- Frame Sliders
- Rizomo Grips
- 14t Sprocket
This bike is priced to sell, considering that the original owner had over $10K invested in it. Admit it, you really have to have this bike!
The bike is listed on Ebay and the bidding is starting at $4000 and the seller has a buy it now option of $5500. That doesn’t sound out of the ballpark for a bike you definitely won’t see everyday. The Termi exhaust had to be a bit pricey by itself. It might be small but heck it is still a Ducati! Maybe the seller is correct: just admit it you really have to have this bike. .

I have a Capirex. It is simply the most fun bike I have ever owned. It fits like a tight pair of jeans, revs like it has afterburners, and lets you corner with your mind and not your butt. There have been five Ducs in my family for three riders and all agree that the Capirex is the keeper in the stable.
