Here’s a reasonably affordable, limited edition Ducati S4 Foggy edition. With just 1168 miles, the buy-it-now of $7200 looks very attractive. The seller’s description accurately states the history and describes some minor modifications.
2002 Ducati Monster S4 Foggy #126 For Sale on eBay
from the seller:
This is a rare chance to own an extremely low production classic Ducati S4 916cc Monster naked standard in perfect condition. This bike has only 1168 miles. It is a commemorative edition from 2002 when Ducati recognized Carl Fogarty retiring from Superbike competition. There were 300 specially modified S4 Monsters (only 74 were sent to the U.S.) This bike could only be obtained by registering online direct at the factory in Italy. It is made with extra carbon fiber cosmetics all over the bike and special two colored seat. (See pictures) In addition, there was a specially designed fairing made with Foggy graphics to go along with the special ” Foggy Ducati” logos on the tank. This bike comes with standard lower mounted exhaust with aluminum cans as well as the Termignoni carbon fiber mufflers mounted up under the seat. Aluminum exhaust system is complete and unused. It was taken off the bike when new and is in a box. (I have included a picture of the bike at the dealer when new with the standard exhaust on it) The air intake under the tank comes modified slightly on a “Foggy” and the motor is specially tuned for this special edition bike. Output is 117 hp. Desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder. Marchesini alloy wheels. Brembo brakes. Removable bodywork behind seat for passenger. Bike is near perfect. Only blemish is a very slight scratch on one of the carbon fiber exhausts (see picture). Lolly pop mirrors were removed in favor of better bar-end mirrors. Small clock is bolted to the left handlebar. Bike comes with owners manual & complete paperwork that dealer provided plus a little research I did online at the time. You get 2 keys plus the special red programming key that is used to re-flash the computer. Bike was sold with 2 specially made stands (front and rear) and a special “Foggy Ducati” red cover. (See picture) Bike has just received a new timing belt, tune up, 2 new tires and an oil change and brake fluid change. It is ready to ride. Serious Ducati enthusiasts will love this bike. I did do a minor tail chop to remove the extra ugly plastic extention for the license plate. Everything else is stock from Italy.

Man, I want this thing. Brand new 2CTs and belts…super low miles…seems like a deal to me.
I think it’s a deal too. Previous examples we’ve listed had more miles and a much higher price tag.

What was the MSRP on these?
WOW, apparently it was $15k! Here’s the press release which I found on http://ducatimonster.org

Bologna, Italy – A special edition of the latest addition to the Monster family has arrived. The S4 Fogarty will be available exclusively on-line at Ducati.com starting June 20th for the price of 18,000 Euro, approximately $15,400 US (using a conversion rate of 1 Euro = 0.853391 USD). The S4 Fogarty was created in homage to racing legend Carl Fogarty, whose ability, determination, and amazing dominance have inspired and thrilled racing enthusiasts worldwide.
Aldo Drudi, noted designer of racing helmets for numerous renowned pilots, created an aggressive and stylish new graphic scheme for the new model.
The fuel tank, front mud guard, headlight fairing, seat cowl and footpeg brackets, which are the same color as the frame and wheels, were also specially designed for the S4 Fogarty by Aldo Drudi.
The engine underwent significant improvement as well. A range of upgrade options are available such as raised oval carbon-fiber exhaust kit manufactured by Termignoni, an injection CPU featuring a dedicated calibration and a special airbox with a corresponding frame. The gain in performance is remarkable, increasing the standard 101 HP at 8750 rpm to 110 HP at 9750 rpm with the “Fogarty” version.
Each bike comes with an exclusive titanium plate etched using laser technology – specially designed by the Poggipolini Company – and fitted near the fuel cap. Etched on the plate are the Foggy logo, his signature, and the bike’s serial number.
And only available for S4 buyers: a limited edition leather jacket specially designed by Aldo Drudi, echoing in line and color the exclusive design of the bike itself. Every jacket is distinguished by the addition of an internal label bearing Foggy’s autograph, logo, and the jacket’s serial number. Produced in a limited series of 300 numbered units, these jackets will also be on sale exclusively at Ducati.com, June 20th.
Nothing like getting a like new bike for half price.
I bought my 2001 Speed Triple with 2400 miles on it for $3600.
MSRP on it was like 11K. Got to love it when someone takes care of that pesky depreciation for you.
Aaaaand it’s gone.
Way to go RSBFS!
That was a great deal!
