Seller
1998 Ducati 916 Biposto.
Never dropped, or ridden in rain.
Carbon wheels, Arrow exhaust, vented clutch cover, aftermarket rear sets. I have it setup with GP shift, because that’s what I’m used to.
New oem old stock green fuel tank from Italy in box.
I have all stock parts still.
I’m sorry, no riding.
Hear it run, sit on it, but no riding until paid for.
We have covered a lot of Ducatis here on RSBFS. Normally a collector’s bike is shown on ebay or BaT with oodles of photos and videos for prospective buyers to review. So when something at this price is found on Craigslist with 4 photos, it’s either too good to be true or holy bat-piston, this could be real! I guess that is part of the excitement we crave when surfing the inter webs for collectables.
Hagerty wrote up a review of the Ducati 916 in May 2023 stating, “Ducati’s mid-1990s superbike has become revered in a way few machines are, pushing prices up and making the 916 the first motorcycle ever to feature in the Hagerty Bull Market back in 2020.”
According to Hagerty, “Most sorted 916s will start from £10,000 ($12,689USD), but that can easily rise to £15,000 ($19,034USD) for an SP or SP3 model. The even rarer Senna and Fogarty Rep bikes now fetch £30,000 if they are in as-new shape.”
I was not able to find a 1998 selling for this price range, but I did find a 1996 Ducati 916 that sold for $25,500 on BaT this past May. If any of you Ducati experts know the value of the ’98 vs the ’96, please feel free to comment.
We just received our Hagerty 2024 Bull Market List and not one was a motorcycle. If we were to put together a RSBFS list for top rare sportbike investments right now – what would be your top 3?
Good luck to the buyer and seller!

It’s overpriced by a mile. It looks like a nice bike, but it’s got custom paint and it’s a biposto (2 seater).
The earliest 916 is the most valuable. The very first 95s that were built in Varese in 94 command a premium for their unique features and history. The 96-97 bikes still have the more desirable Cagiva graphics whereas the last year 98 916 has the newer more basic modern graphics.
Interesting paint scheme. Amongst the worst photos I’ve seen in an ad.
@Vincent – On point, as always.
