Update 12.4.2012: Normally we don’t repost bikes that are relisted this quickly but after failing to meet reserve previously at $7500 bid, this bike is back on eBay with a current winning bid of $6k and 4 days remaining. Links updated and good luck to buyer and seller! -dc
eBay seller “shelbob” has had a quite of few of his bikes on our Classic SportBike For Sale website, but it looks like he’s starting to unload some of his more modern classics now (I see a MH900e and a Bimota in the background — I wonder if those will be next?)
Today’s auction is a fresh from storage 1998 Ducati 900 SuperSport Final Edition. These came with all of the 900SS/SP upgrades plus a few more exclusive goodies like the color, solo seat, adjustable levers, and a handful of small improvements in terms of reliability.

I question whether that huge black felt pin inscription (“TO MARK”) can be easily removed as seller claims. I suspect it’s permanently damaged the tank’s paint- a shame. Oh- it’s signed by #23, which would be Doug Polen, WSB champ. He’s a cool guy, but I don’t see how that really adds any value, or is a selling point to this particular 900SS at all.
There were a lot more than 300 FEs made. Supposedly only 300 imported into the USA (I own # 299).
Sold for $7267.
