You don’t see many ZR550Bs anymore. Not a limited-run bike when new, but definitely uncommon to spot today. If you are into cafe racers, here is a brand new 36-year-old bike that is looking for some road time.
Every day we try to surface the rarest sportbikes on the market. But once in a while, an ad appears that’s less about certainty and more about conversation. A crated bike, one mile, two photos, and a very confident description… this one feels like it was made for the comment section.
Good luck to the buyer and seller.
Bragging rights go the the clever commenter, not the cruel.

Why buy a Zephyr? Because sometimes you just need to breeze past your problems…
Owned the ZR400 version when I lived in Japan They are very popular over there and the major Japanese aftermarket parts sellers still offer a lot of customization options. Unfortunately, titanium headers with a Beet exhaust can probably would be wasted on this bike as its best option remains the crate in which it’s still sitting.
I’m surprised to see this bike here. It isn’t exactly a sport bike…..is it?
Did people actually find this bike appealing? There are far better options from that era. Honda’s NT650 Hawk comes to mind.
I agree with keeping it in the crate, but perhaps throw a blanket over that crate.
Zephyr fan here. Have a ’91, 750. It has styling cues from the first Z900’s and I think it is a good looking bike. Mine was just a set of better rear shocks/springs, Progressive fork springs, a carb jet kit, and radial tires away from being a really great bike. I have surprised a lot of riders at track days with it, plus it is comfortable enough for sport touring duty. Remember, this Zephyr was one of the Cycle World 10 best bikes of the year in 1991. The 1100 Zephyr is even better.
