Just the other day I saw one of these on the road, and it turned my head.
The Honda CB1100F was the flagship model of Honda’s CB series of motorcycles during the early 1980s. Due to its unique combination of performance, technology, and stylish design, the CB1100F has become a sought-after collectible motorcycle. Considering this one has only 5,700 miles, and all the goodies for a modern rider, it qualifies as a fun collectible.
Honda CB1100F for sale on eBay
From the Seller:
Runs-drives great, original exhaust included, tires are good, this is one awesome 80’s super bike, and in great-clean condition.
Rare Thoughts:
Many of us have seen one of these in person. I’ve always wanted one but never found the right one… and now I’m considering a road trip to Wisconsin.
All kidding aside, this is the flagship bike of the famed Honda endurance racers. And it looks cool.
Last summer Donn covered one of these on RSBFS stating “As the ultimate update to the CB750, the 1100 had internal and external updates to let it cope with 108 hp.” Carbureted air-cooled power!
Considering what we’ve seen these air-cooled early 80’s super bikes go for, this one seems within reach.
Since this is not an ultra-low-mile bike, nor is it a high-mile-bike, there is room to put some miles on it without loosing the collectability. You can enjoy this purchase while twisting the throttle through some curves, understanding why people love the CB series.

Seems like alot of changes for only 5,800 miles. It loses alot of its collectability w/o black chrome exhausts, cut down seat, stock airbox and shocks. A good rider though. However, $8,300 seems a bit high for a non-stock 1100.
I see your point on the collectibility. Back in ’83 these bolt-on changes personalized the bike and gave it that fantastic in-line four-in-one sound. Hard to beat.
@Jess agree completely on the collectability today with period mods done. The exhaust is the biggest deal by far as they make a huge difference in value. One other thing to note. The cylinder head fins should be raw brushed aluminum. The fins on this bike are black indicating at least the cylinder head has been repainted. Unless an oversized piston kit or some other engine mod was installed, there would be no reason to repaint at 5700 miles. For reference on what all truly all original and with low miles (957) can do for value, check out the CB1100F sold at Mecum this last January (Lot R235 — unable to post the direct link in this comment). Hammered for $25,000 plus $2,500 commission.
Joexray,
I didn’t realize these are getting that valuable.
Thanks (maybe), now I will think that I have to be more careful w/ mine . . .
Thinking about a CB1100f selling for $25K at Mecum. I think the ’82 CB1100r selling for $19.9K in the post above is a relative bargain, the issue for me is that it is in France. But not so much for someone that has done international buying and shipping.
