Here is a 1991 RGV 250 in excellent condition. According to the seller, its a 1991 with approximately 4,000 miles. It appears to be a gray market import based on the speedo but the pics show a bike in very good condition. The seller has indicated that it has a few scratches and dings, but while not a museum piece its good as a rider. Importantly the seller says the power valve modifications have already been done, and it has fresh tires.
Seller’s description:
1991 Suzuki RGV250
In good condition with clean and clear Florida Title. Bike has approximately 4600 miles on it. It is the unrestricted version with approximately 67-70 hp and weighs approximately 282 lbs. Bike does not have any corrosion or rust that is typically found on these 250’s. This is a rider and not a museum piece so it does have a few scratches. Needless to say, it’s extremely fast and the closest you will get to owning a GP bike: USD forks, banana swing, exhaust valve controller and lots of other technology to go fast. I have owned lots of other 2 strokes and none compares to the total riding experience of this RGV250.
The seller has also include this video of the bike running:
I expect the seller is going to have quite a few inquiries regarding this bike. That shouldn’t really be a surprise given that this is a RGV250 in the very desirable blue and white color scheme plus the fact it has a clear Florida title. Also, even though its not completely OEM, the small things that appear non-OEM on it such as the windscreen and bar ends could probably be easily replaced at little cost. I would expect both fans and collectors to go after this one.
So whats it going to take to get this one in your garage? Well anyone who is interested should realistically expect to pay about $7,500.00 USD, in part because this seems to be what early 90’s RGV’s are going for right now and because that is what the seller has indicated he wants for it 🙂
Interested parties can email the seller. Best wishes to the seller and whomever ends up with this one.

That’s what a motorcycle is supposed to sound like.
Why do people insist on exaggerating the HP numbers on every bike? You’re going to see mid to MAYBE high 50s rwhp on a stock bike thats perfectly set up. You’d have to tune the nuts off it to see close to 70…
The tank has 92 model graphics and the fairings have 91 style graphics but they’re not original. Either resprayed or chinese copy. The ducktail is 92 shape.
Yep. Nice bike on its own merit, and titled. But claiming 70hp just makes the guy sound like an idiot.
This is where the HP numbers came from:
http://www.suzukicycles.org/RGV-series/RGV250-Gamma.shtml
Nobody is claiming the hp listed above is whp.
Being that it is not an FIII kitted race bike it is also not 70hp at the crank.
Tank is the wrong year. Fairings not original.
It’s wearing all replacement bodywork and the tank is from the wrong model year. Should make you wonder why. It is not worth anything near $7,500. An all original, clean and titled 91 VJ22 would be.
That video put a huge smile on my face this morning. The KICK and the SOUND !!!!! Thanks for that. Merry Christmas !!
A question for the experts…as I’m learning here. Isn’t that a ’92 tank on a ’91 model?
I believe that is the same engine that was used in the Arilia Cup RS250
A well tuned race version Cup bike put out 58-60 hp @RW
At the crank? Don’t know
At the brochure? 70hp
Ok….Aprilia
And hp claim aside, that is a sweet bike
Titled and quite rare
Just because you guys don’t think it is worth $7500 doesn’t mean the world agrees with you. Two things:
1) a bike is worth exactly what someone will give you for it
2) they publish the asking price, not the sold price
Just sayin’…
Yes it is a 1992 tank on a 1991 RGV. The previous owner preferred the look of the 1992 tank. That’s why is was placed on the bike by the owner. Yes, its aftermarket fairings-maybe the original were tired looking and the aftermarket fairing was a cheaper alternative. No body is saying its a perfect, fresh out of the crate bike.
Ok, for all the naysayers-just call it 60 hp at the crank.
50-60-70 hp….whatever! It’s still a cool bike. And whatever someone is willing to pay for it is exactly what it’s worth. Stick a CA title on it and I’d buy it.
That’s my 2c worth.
back in my two stroke days we were getting 115 hp out of them you,d get 2000 k out of them but hey that’s the price to pay for a two stroke buzz
I,m interested so whats the price…
Yea I agree with mark on what he brought up…….this bike would look its best with a Cali plate on its ass
Pretty sure he wants 7500 for it but you can click the link labelled interested parties can contact seller to shoot him a note, maybe work something out
cheers

Nice bike, the tail section is incorrect for the early blue and white striped color scheme of the 1st RGV250M, the early RGV had 3 side air vents, the later RGV250P models had two air vent slots on the tail section. Those may be china fairings. Depending on the sapc # it could be a restricted 45hp model or 55hp full power model.
That’s my old bike… gsxr clip ons, polished calipers with braided lines.
I imported this bike from Aus. back in 2000… it entered this world as a restricted jap market Sports production model. My Lucky Strike is the proud beneficiary of the straight plug heads, close chassis ratio gear box, dry clutch, and lower aluminum triple clamp. I replaced with all standard parts. The tank is original. The top end looked good, i cannot remember if i re pinned the power valves.. i sold it with the restricted sapc. Check the vin as it will come up as a Sports Production model.

This is your old bike.. I bought it from you back in 2013.
Bike ran great but I had to replace the ratty farings.
I do not believe that it was restricted unless the buyer did the work.
I have a full power VJ 23 that may be close to 70hp.
This bike probably 45 -50 as I remember how it pulled when I owned it in 2013
I sold it as it sits for $5500. I believe he has it one ebay now for $5999
No title ? … but worth $6k I think
$6K is fair for such a rare bike. Would be interested if it were close to Oregon. The shipping cost would be to high coming from FL.
royste, please let us know if you ever want to sell your VJ23. BTW, is it titled?
I just had a bike shipped from Oregon to Virginia Enclosed transport for $700
FYI
VJ 23 = $16k with lots of extra’s
CA title on the VJ 23 ( lucky strike full power)
Sugaya’s – Race SAPC – KYB forks/ radial brake calipers – 240 KPH gauges – over $6000 in extra’s – $16k – no offers – no neg 🙂
Seller has in his ad, “not to be linked to RSBFS”. Now I know why. Great site.
