We’d like to start off by thanking Dan for bringing this community together. His love of rare sport bikes was strong enough to shout it out to the world and see who would listen. Clearly, he was not alone.
Over the past month we have been mentored by this gentleman and it is an honor and challenge for sure to fill his shoes. Here’s to Dan!
As the new caretakers of RSBFS we’d like to take a moment to say hello to all of you.
We are active outdoors people, living in the Northeast and the motor-head half of us, Ted aka: Red, is a motorcycle enthusiast. Ted has been following RareSportBikesForSale.com since it started and he has purchased a few bikes that were featured on the site.
Ted loves motorcycles, dirt bikes and street bikes, especially the plastic Japanese bikes of the 80s and 90s. His life in NY/NJ was filled with car shows and drag racing (both bikes and cars). He enjoys riding the twisty Vermont roads and tinkering in his shop. As a builder by trade and a builder at heart, there is always a project in the works.
Lorelei is a graphic designer from NH and she bought her own 1978 Suzuki DS100 dirt bike at a yard sale when she was 15. Those early years of riding helped when she met Ted 17 years later and he put her on a ’72 Yamaha R5C. She has grown to appreciate the design aspect of motorsports through her constant exposure to motorcycles, muscle cars, NHRA and many, many swap meets and track days.
Our number one goal is to keep this site going and keep sharing what is on the market. It is exciting to be a part of this community and we hope we can bring something more to the platform.
On that note – we will be sending a survey out via e-mail. So please keep an eye out for it. Your thoughts and suggestions are welcome as we get our feet wet.
If you are not on our e-mail list and you would like to share your thoughts, please subscribe. You can find the subscribe button on the top right side of the navigation bar.
We plan to use e-mail as a way to communicate with all of you. And we definitely want to hear from you!
Thanks for taking the time to read up on us. Here we go!!!

Didn’t know you guys were moto’s; I’ll follow ! (‘7? SUZUKI 125, ’82 GS650E, ’82 650 LTD; ’80 GS850L & ’99 Buell Cyclone in the shed dormant…
Dan, thanks for this wonderful publication. I start my day with it to just “see what’s out there” and so often I find articles that take me back to my youth. RSBFS has been a constant source of amazement. If I’m interested in a bike, I use this site for research as the articles are so well-written. I’ve even had a few of my bikes show-cased on RSBFS and they sold quickly.
LL & Red, we RSBFS faithful look forward to continuing the journey with you.
Thank you for taking on the effort and time it will take to keep up with this great venue. I have listed several bikes successfully in the past with Dan and knew how much time and work was involved in making it work. I wish you the best and hopefully will have something of interest to list in the near future.

Congratulations on taking over RSBFS, which has become a “go to” site for me most mornings. Looking back on many of the bikes posted for sale brings back great memories of bikes I’ve owned and trips I’ve taken on them. Seeing some of the more exotic bikes gives me a chance to marvel at the design, engineering, and quality of some amazing machines…and the great care and devotion owners have taken in preserving them.
Looking forward to seeing RSBFS continuing to grow and thrive under your ownership!
Thank you! We are excited – this is a great community.
Thank you Ted! For sure this is a labor of love. Luckily three of the contributors have already agreed to stay on and help us continue the tradition.
Phil – Thanks for this input. We were wondering if people like the articles referenced or just the facts. Sometimes I go down the rabbit hole reading articles, lol. It is fun to read what was written when the bike was released, then what has been written recently – and it is always fun to read comments from RSBFS – those comments give great insights.
It’s kind of like when you only see people on the mountain in their ski gear and then you don’t even recognize them in the summer time, lol.
This is one of the few places I unwind after work. I love sportbikes, and will always buy with intent to ride. I have meager means and unusual rides are irresistable. It is the community here of people that can tell me more about ownership of these uncommon rides that keeps me engaged. The subjects are a rabbit hole, but the contributors on both sides make successful navigation possible. Thank you all who participate.
Ted, Thanks for taking over the helm! Glad to see you and your family playing a part to make this a dynamic site I look forward to visiting and selling on. Joe G.
Thank you for taking over and keeping the rare sportbikes flowing!
This site is a wonderful resource for collectors and enthusiasts.
Thanks for keeping it going. I always drop around to see what is up. Used to have the t-shirt many years ago.
Regards from Perth, Aus.
@E. Harty – perhaps we should think up a new t-shirt design…
