The 1993 Moto Guzzi Daytona 1000 is something special. It’s a rare and powerful V-twin sport bike that tips its hat to Moto Guzzi’s racing roots, which I have been devouring this week on the history page of the Moto Guzzi site. I’m impressed with the model’s style, and they didn’t make a ton of them, so it’s got that exclusive box checked.
1993 Moto Guzzi Daytona for sale on eBay
From seller:
1993 Moto Guzzi. as new original condition with only 1447 miles. very rare supposedly only 34 brought into the US
Rare Thoughts:
When the starting bid is $15,000 it is worth investigating. Back in April of 2017 Mike wrote about one of these for sale here on RSBFS stating, “Moto Guzzi are bikes you hold on to. They are keepers. This is why they are not commonly found for sale, and when they are they tend to command higher prices.” The BIN price for the bike Mike covered 6 years ago was $11,300. This info combined with the fact that one sold for $13,000 one year ago with 8,553 more miles, makes the $15,000 bid for this Moto Guzzi Daytona 1000 seem attractive.
Let’s dig a bit deeper. Three months ago a crack in the universe opened up when one of these sold out of the crate for $31,500. That means we are looking at a value somewhere between $13,000 and $31,500…. Okay, clearly that is a large gap and ‘out-of-the-crate’ is in a different league. But this info gives us the direction of the model.
I can’t help but wonder if these Guzzi’s from the 90’s are starting to get traction?
Let’s make sure our ‘Guzzista’ friends know about this listing as there is less than 48 hours left for the auction. I’ll be popping popcorn and watching the last hour on the edge of my seat.
