Since the holidays are all about extravagant shopping, it’s hard to imagine anything more rare from the factory than an NSR500V! This example is stunning and carries an amazing asking price of just £150k, or roughly $240k USD. Next to no details are given in the ad but I suppose if you’re hoping Santa is going to leave this under the tree you’ll be doing your homework.

Jeebus! It that really worth that much $$?
No. not worth even close to $240,000 US- unless that’s a $160,000 paint job!
I think not so much. New one costed 70k Pounds. Now he wants 150k. For a half money you can have a real 4 cylinder two stroke racer (yzr500), and not only 2 cylinder like this one.
one sold in the US about 5 years ago for 80k US.
I did the restoration on that particular bike and I took those pictures (in Cali). You can also see that the airbox is missing. It was in North Hollywood in Los Angeles so I am not sure how it got there. If you want to buy Haslam’s Shell Advance bike, I know where it is and I don’t think it is that much money.
916 – Doesn’t matter what it cost new as we’ve seen many, many times on this site. Good luck getting yzr500 spare parts. These bikes are very fast and light and are a ‘real two stroke racer’. They’ve been on the podium.

RMD has for sale a YZR500 in California, ex Roberts bike for sale if you want the real deal, and it wont cost you as much!
Well as experience has shown,it’s worth what someone is prepared too pay for it AND obscene wealth and common sense are not always found to be mutual bed mates!
this was the real deal…a V-twin offered as a production racer to fill out the grids. The four cylinder bikes were just costing too much for a lot of teams. I’m not sure of it’s win/loss record..seems someone did win a race on one?
The problem with these bikes was that by the time they were released as a production racebike, the F.I.M. changed the fuel rules and everyone had to run unleaded. This really killed the bike, performance wise, and made it slow and prone to detonation, siezures and difficult to tune. The production bike was being developed from Okada’s Honda Factory twin, and this did havesome good results. But it was a FATORY bike, and more importantly, was running full lead race fuel.
Re: Seventh Gear. Unleaded became the rule around 1997/98. These bikes were well sorted on unleaded fuel and produced greater power than leaded fueled versions. Detonation is easily controlled and not an issue if tuned correctly. I have run leaded and unleaded bikes and while leaded bikes are easier to manage, the unleaded bikes always performed better when properly tuned.

Joel: This bike is really Two stroke racer, and very collectible. But still, it was PRODUCTION racer, that can bought nearly everybody. Yes, it doesn´t matter, how much it costed, but honestly this bike is very overprized. I had seen 3 NSR500V for sale, one for 50k Dollars, second for 90k, and bike after Mccoy for buy it know 80k Dollars. This one is 230k and photos in add are several years old.
I agree 100%
