Honda RC51, the last true Honda race bike. These are becoming more rare and harder to find as time goes on and I’m sure the value will continue to go up. This one has ~9,400 miles and runs awesome, nothing else sounds like these big V-twins. It has never spent a night outside, and never ridden in the rain.
New fork seals,
Recent service, fresh fluids.
Clutch and brake lines flushed.
New-ish Lithium Battery.

Bike is ready to show, go in your man cave, garage collection, vintage racing or just ride it. Please, no low-ballers or scammers. I don’t need help selling it. The bike has CA registration and a clean title. Bike is located in Windsor, CA.

And we offer a little insight from Tad, “Honda’s RVT1000R, also known as the RC51, represents an unusual moment for Honda, one where they threw up their hands and just went with the flow. For a company that was so stubborn they designed an insane eight valve per cylinder V4, just so they didn’t have to follow convention and build a two-stroke for Grand Prix racing, this was a watershed moment. Prior to the RC51, Honda had campaigned V4s in World Superbike racing that were limited by rules to 750cc, compared to the v-twin Ducatis that were allowed an additional 250cc of displacement. Displeased by what they felt was an unfair advantage, Honda built a 999cc 90° v-twin with gear-driven cams to follow the same rules as their rivals at Ducati. Honda’s new superbike was successful and won the WSBK championship in 2000 and then again in 2002. After which the company, having seemingly proven their point to the world, withdrew official support for the machine in World Superbike racing.”
Good luck to the buyer and seller!

Stock bits sold separately? Last ‘Honda race bike’? Some truly questionable assertions here.
I think the seller is doing what I’ve seen done before on some bike forums: Sell the bike as-is due to being lazy to take the time to restore completely back to stock configuration. Then, one can part out the aftermarket bits separately, or in bulk. This reduces the sticker shock of the sale price to a potential buyer, and maximizes the return-on-investment to the owner.
He knows what he has!
Just ask him. But don’t you dare try to test ride this rare and exotic mass produced machine.
Take it easy on the seller. Some guys love their RC-51s. I have the Hayden edition RC-51, and I will tell you it’s the most exotic bike I have ever owned. lol
They are great bikes, no question. But hyperbole is simply that.
Nice bike, its a road bike, one sold locally to me in Ireland for €5000 Euros six months back.
Hyperbole rules the roost.
Make a nice track bike, Soichiro would approve.
Another bike where Honda threw its engineering expertise at, to show the world that they could. Impressive.
