If the ex-Pat CBX1000 we posted last week had you salivating, here’s a much more affordable stateside example. The tradeoff is a mere 3700 miles and tasteful aftermarket pipes. Current bid is just shy of $9k and the reserve has been met. A collectible you can ride a bit and not have to worry about overseas shipping!

1979 Honda CBX1000 for sale on eBay
from the seller:
THIS MOTORCYCLE IS AN OUTSTANDING EXCEPTIONAL (NOT- RESTORED) ORIGINAL. IT HAS ONLY 3700 MILES. MOTORCYCLE HAS NEW TIRES ,NEW BATTERY, NEW BRAKE PADS AND BRAKE FLUID. THE EXHAUST IS NOT ORIGINAL ALTHOUGH THE SYSTEM IT CAME WITH IS ONE OF THE PRETTIEST (NICE LINES) AND HAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SOUND TRACK. THE SOUND ALONE IS EXHILARATING AND JUST MAKES YOU WANT TO RIDE AROUND LISTENING TO IT.( SOUNDS LIKE A 12 CYLINDER FERRARI) ANYWAY, I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS EXHAUST ON ANY CBX OR ANY OTHER MOTORCYCLE MANUFACTURE. THE NAME OF THE EXHAUST IS (BSM) AND WHEN I SEARCH ON THE COMPUTER IT KEEPS COMING UP WITH INFORMATION FROM GERMANY, SO I’M GUESSING THAT’S WHERE IT WAS MADE. THE OLDER GENTLEMAN I PURCHASED THE MOTORCYCLE FROM TRIED TO START THE BIKE AFTER 30 SOME ODD YEARS AND BLUED THE PIPES SLIGHTLY, DUE TO THE CARBURETORS NOT HAVING BEEN CLEANED. I SINCE THEN HAVE ULTRASONICALLY CLEANED THE CARBURETORS AND FRONT AND REAR BRAKE SYSTEMS. THE MOTORCYCLE RUNS LIKE SWISS WATCH. THE LAST TIME I SEEN A CBX THIS NICE IS WHEN I WAS A LITTLE BOY
I had 2 CBXs in my misspent youth . One was a silver one and the other was red . However my red one had already been repainted by its previous owner . My regret was never having a proper red OEM one such as this . Very clean bike this one appears to be . The stock exhaust systems don’t always seem to survive well over time . However this one does not appear to be bad looking for the style and blends in fairly well . Just my humble two cents worth .
Sold for $9600. Congratulations to buyer and seller!
