Basically a completely blueprinted, upgraded to race-spec, and restyled Kawasaki ZX-7R, the Muzzy Raptor SB-750 was designed and built by the famed Rob Muzzy, winner of multiple championship titles for Kawasaki in WSBK and AMA Superbike and Supersport classes. The Raptor roadbikes weren’t kit bikes in any sense: customers needed to purchase a new ZX-7R from a dealership or supply their own to Muzzy’s shop, where the bike was hand built by a single mechanic into a literal roadgoing racebike, with no part going untouched. The result was a claimed 160hp and much lighter weight than the ZX-7R, 425lbs dry versus 450lbs. Suspension was via Öhlins at the rear, matched to a top-spec KYB fork out front, although an optional Öhlins unit was available as well. Pricey add-ons when new were a bored-and-stroked 835cc engine and a gorgeous magnesium single-sided swingarm.

This bike is a fantastic piece of engineering art. Muzzy took the already excellent ZX7 and made it legendary. Everywhere you look on it you see some very cool features found on full race bikes like all safety wired fasteners. Its performance is downright scary being way over most riders abilities, Def including mine! But its very easy to cruise around and thoroughly enjoyable just out for a spin. with its low weight and low center of gravity its prob one of the easier bikes to drive. The wheels and brakes are nothing short of awesome. Dunlop tires are new with only a few miles. She has been vary well cared for as you would expect a bike of this caliber.Note: Some of these Muzzy’s came with single sided rear swingarms, which is very cool, but the standard one like we have here is lighter in weight.Note: The original “Raptor” lower cowl stickers are included.
This Muzzy Raptor is one very rare and desirable machine. The only real downsides of this one? It’s not quite finished at the time the listing was posted, it isn’t the 850cc version, and it has the “lighter” double-sided swingarm. Of course it’s lighter. But, unless you plan to race this thing, who cares: the single-sider is much cooler. I haven’t seen one of these for sale recently, but I believe the seller is correct that the $21,995 being asked seems very reasonable.
