Eye Candy Alert: 2011 Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC SE

Eye Candy Alert: 2011 Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC SE

Just some eye candy here to help get you through the middle of your work week.  According to the dealer, less than 50 of Aprilia’s top of the line RSV4’s will be brought in this year.

You know if there are less than 50 that means its going to be pricey.  The BIN is $24,995.  Expensive but oh so tempting with all the new techno goodies.

I’m liking the sharp angles.

Now admit it, that crappy day at work doesn’t seem so bad now does it?

Here are the highlights of the SE:

  • APRC fitted as standard
  • Fuel system with variable length intake ducts
  • Advanced exhaust butterfly valve management
  • 3-point adjustable chassis
  • Öhlins fully adjustable front fork
  • Öhlins fully adjustable shock absorber
  • Öhlins adjustable steering damper
  • Wheel rims in forged aluminium
  • Carbon parts
  • Special Tricolour livery

You can find all the info on SE here on Aprilia’s website.

Here is some slick marketing to help extract the cash from your pocket:

I don’t think Max has a bunch of warning stickers on his tank.

Given the choice:  an Aprilia RSV4 SE or a Ducati 1198 SP?  I think I have to vote for the Aprilia.

1992 Yamaha FZR600 Vance & Hines Edition #476 with 2,620 Original Miles

This a very nice, low mileage, Vance & Hines Edition FZR600.

Bike:  1992 Yamaha FZR600 V&H

Location:  Mountain Lakes, New Jersey

Mileage:  2,620mi

The seller states that this bike is “…perfect without a scratch.”  It was recently tuned and supposedly runs like a champ.  This bike looks to be perfectly stock (except for the windscreen) and in fantastic condition as the seller states.  We’ve had a few V&H Edition FZR’s in the past and none had this low of mileage or were in as original condition.  See the other FZR600s we’ve posted here.

The Vance & Hines Edition wasn’t special other than the commemorative scheme and V&H exhaust system.  1992 was also the last year for the square headlight design which only lasted for two years before Yamaha reverted back to the earlier, dual headlight, design that was so popular.  If you’re a Yamaha collector, you should have one of these and this is probably one of the best examples out there.  See the bike on eBay .

2010 KTM RC8 Red Bull and Acrapovic Special Editions

2010 KTM RC8 Red Bull and Acrapovic Special Editions

Decisions, decisions.  What a fun decision it will be though.  I haven’t seen a lot of these for sale to it’s a decent find to find two together.  If you aren’t familiar with them, they are both lighted modded versions of KTM’s RC8.  Both have Akrapovic exhausts, modified valve timing and thinner head gaskets.  Enough to give you a nice little jump in horsepower to go along with the good looks.  KTM claims 10 more hp and 7.5kg lighter weight on the Akrapovic edition.  I’d assume the Red Bull edition would be similar.

From the auction:

BRAND NEW 2010 KTM RC8R “AKROPOVIC/RED BULL” AVAILABLE ! 25 OF EACH IMPORTED INTO NORTH AMERICA (LESS THAN 20 TO U.S). . BOTH COME WITH “TRACK KIT” CONSISTING OF Ti EXHAUST AND ENGINE TUNING PARTS, FULL 2 YR WARRANTY SETUP AND PREPPED BY AUTHORIZED DEALER. BOTH ON UNTITLED AND CAN BE REGISTERED AS NEW.  CERTIFIED FUNDS ONLY, $500 DEPOSIT WITHIN 48 HOURS. SHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS ARE BUYERS RESPONSIBILITY.

Is it a bad sign that the dealer  can’t spell Akrapovic correctly in the auction?  I’m not the world’s best speller but looks bad when you are advertising a high dollar motorcycle.  As of this writing the auction only has  two days left and bidding appears brisk.  At over $14,000 the reserve had not been met.  Trolling the internets I found another at a dealer listed for $24,000 so the reserve probably has a ways to go.

1998 Ducati 900SS/FE Final Edition #179 Of 300

Here is another, very clean, 900SS/FE number 179 of 300.  Located in San Mateo, California is a 1998 Ducati 900SS Final Edition with 6,700 original miles.  This bike has been fitted with Forza carbon silencers–possibly a full system.  A lot of FE 900’s have become available lately making them seem not so rare even though only three-hundred were produced for the U.S.!  The asking price on this example is $6,800.  This price puts it at the higher end of FE prices and it isn’t the lowest mileage we’ve seen.  Doug posted a FE with only 135 original miles, and still on MSO which can be seen here; It’ll be interesting to see what that bike sells for as it should give a pretty good indication of current values for FE’s heading into spring.  See this example on Craigslist here.  See a photo album of the bike here.

1993 Honda NSR250R SE MC21

Located in Newburgh, New York is a 1993 Honda NSR250SE.  This bike isn’t the best replica and isn’t perfect with some electrical and light cosmetic issues however, it seems to be a very good driver featuring HRC, RS25o, RC51 and Tyga accessories.  The asking price is $7,999.  See the bike on Craigslist here.
