1985 Yamaha RZ350

1985 Yamaha RZ 350 with nice upgrades for sale in Chico California.

This RZ belongs to a reader who asked us to help him sell it. So naturally we going to do our best to accommodate the request.

From time to time we come across RZ’s that are all stock, with super low miles, and are meant to be in a museum and enjoyed by paying patrons on a Sunday afternoon. This RZ is a fine looking piece of machinery, but has been enjoyed by riding it over the years and has been loved on by its most recent owner. Check out what the owner has to say about his baby. Owner is asking $4,500.00 and it seems to be on the lower end of RZ’s we’ve posted. So, if you’re interested in a RZ that you can ride and not feel guilty about here is the Craigslist ad contact information.

The motor has been freshened and has 30mm Mikuni’s prepped by spec 2. Never been wrecked that I can see and I am an expert as far as that goes. The bike starts and runs perfectly. The paint job is not original but it was done well. It was done long before I purchased the bike and I’ve just kept it clean and waxed. There are a few chips here and there but there are no dents. The bike gets stares every time I ride it.

I enjoy posting up these older 2 strokes because it gives me a reason to dig around on youtube and find videos of these bikes on the dyno or doing high speed passes. Either one makes the hair raise on the back of my neck and really gets amp’d up.

Here’s one of an RZ at full tilt on the dyno. It’s worth a look and a listen.

This next video is worth a look as well. The rider has his RZ dialed in and takes it to red line in the lower 4 gears and it screams almost as much as Ivan from FFDP.

Cheers!

1989 Yamaha RZ350 LC Canadian model on ebay

This might be the cleanest 20 year old bike on ebay!

There are more pictures available on the aution site, but I didn’t feel the need to bring them over because this scooter is absolutely spotless. I’m OC when it comes to keeping my rides clean and polished, but I’m pretty sure this owner has me beat hands down.

Owner says:

Rare 1989 Yamaha RZ350 LC Canadian model located in California. This is a 2 owner bike that is super clean and original. The only non original parts are the tires and new battery. Bike has 11,197 km = 6718 miles. I have had this bike for a while and never ride it so it’s time to sell it. Bike runs but the carbs will need to be cleaned from sitting for about one year. The fork seals should also be changed. This is one of the cleanest RZ350 LC around I don’t think there are to may left in this condition. There are no cracks in the fairings, no dents, no road rash…. I don’t think the bike has ever been down. Worldwide shipping is no problem email for details. USA shipping is also no problem. This bike is listed on our website for sale so if it sells there I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. Check out my other auctions for more rare bikes and parts our check us out on the web. Bike is sold as is no returns so ask questions before you bid.

A few things that caught my eye when I first looked at this bike.
1. How it still shines.
2. The rake on the front forks! Looks like a mini-chopper and I can’t help but wonder how it handles.
3. The slightly odd colors

I expect this RZ will impress our most discerning two stroke fans. Jump over to ebay and give it a look. The owner has posted several very large pictures for any would be buyers to drool over.

Once again, we have to thank Jim for pushing this fine RZ our way. Good looking out Jim!

Cheers!

1984 Yamaha RZ 350 with super low miles!!

I’m not sure I’ve ever come across a cleaner, lower mileage RZ than this one. Even though this might not be the most desirable color for collectors it still deserves a look. The seller has offered several pictures for review and a phone number for anyone interested in more information. These were only imported for 2 years and were only available in two color schemes. I personally prefer the Red/White/Blue vs. the Kenny Roberts edition.

Here is the quote from the listing:

I have up for auction what might be considered one of the “Nicest” “Low Mile” RZ 350s in the country. I am the 2nd owner of the motorcycle. I purchaced this RZ roughly five years ago & still carry the “Original Title” and service manual. I only put maybe 80 miles on the bike when I decided to pull it in the house & park it near the pool table. This RZ runs outstanding, it has also never been rebuilt, everything functions perfectly. To find a 1984 Yamaha RZ 350 with under 1,400 original miles you might have to look in a museum. I’m sure this would make any RZ enthusiast or “Collector” quite satisfied.

From the looks of it I would have to agree with the seller in that this one is sure to please.

You can check out other RZ 350’s we’ve had posted on RSBFS here for price reference. This one has a reserve price, but at the time of this posting only had 1 bid of $499.00 on it.

Quotes from the seller:

with 15 000 km (9000 miles)
This bike, when i bought it 2 years ago cost my $3900.00 and i put more than
$4000.00 to make it perfect. There is New Original Gas Tank and one side pannel.
There is a scratch on front fender back side.
Carburator, brake, tires, seat (front and back), mono seat, battery are new.
It start on first kick. Everything work perfectly.
I have all the invoice and evaluation price for this bike is more than $14000.00 is this condition

The seller seems to have a lot of $ into restoring these little bikes and it shows. Back in August I believe the RG was for sale on ebay for 4,500, but that may have been a starting price. Both have B.I.N prices of $5,300.00 so if you or your significant other has a cool 2 stroke on the wish list, these could be under the tree by Christmas.

1985 Yamaha RZ350 For Sale in Los Angeles

Here’s another great legal two-stroker bike in L.A. on Craigslist, a 1985 RZ350 for $5900 (15k miles):

1985 Yamaha RZ350 For Sale in California1985 Yamaha RZ350 For Sale in California1985 Yamaha RZ350 For Sale in California1985 Yamaha RZ350 For Sale in California

quote from seller’s Craigslist ad:

You can see by the pictures how clean this bike it, but you need to see it in person to really appreciate it. Not only does it look sweet, it hauls ass! 30mm Mikuni carbs, Boyesen carbon reeds, and CRG bar end mirrors, were just put on. The cylinders have been ported & the pistons are 1 size bigger than stock. The pipes are Spec II, and has a Fox shock. The solo seat cowl, that alone is worth money. The Dunlop tires have less than 400 miles on them. The fairing was made in Japan, and I’m not too sure if it’s still available. Pretty trick looking, street fighter like.
There are no dents on the tank, 1 maybe 2 nicks, and there are no scratches. The miles 15,847 are original, I’m the second owner of this bike and I keep it covered to keep it clean and avoid the sun beating on it. It’s well worth 5,900, but I’m willing to take reasonable offers.

This bike sounds like it’s well sorted and ready to be enjoyed by it’s next owner. Checking prices of other RZ350’s we listed in the recent past show this price is about right.

Thanks for the heads up Roy!

Custom 1984 RZ350

Located in Pittsburg, California is a very cool custom 1984 RZ350 consisting of parts from a RZ/TZ/R6.  This bike is titled and registered.  Seller states that it is 95% complete and is asking what seems to be a fair $5,000.  The details as per the seller:

Only 6 hours on the motor since being built. Requires 100 Octane Race Fuel with current domes but can be setup to run 92 Octane pump gas with included domes. Carbs will need new floats… I foolishly left the fuel petcock on when I went on a short vacation. The VP MR race fuel gummed up the carb bowls and floats. I have cleaned the throttle bodies extensively but will most likely have to replace the floats.

A very cool custom bike that appears to be at a very good price for the right person.  See the Craigslist ad here.

1985 Yamaha RZ350 Kenny Roberts

Located in Los Angeles, California is the rare color 1985 Yamaha RZ350, Kenny Roberts edition.  This bike has been well maintained and completely gone through.  This example claims to be completely stock except for the smoked windscreen, tires, and battery.  It sounds as if the majority of the rubber parts on this bike have been replaced only because of their age–which is a good thing.  The bodywork is completely original.  The seller states that the only defect is a small one on the tank decals.  This bike is California titled and registered.  Priced at $5,499, this bike is located at a dealer but not inflated in price just because of that fact.  See the Craigslist ad here.
