1985 Yamaha RZ350 with only 10 miles For Sale!

1985 Yamaha RZ350 For Sale on eBay!

Make: Yamaha
Year: 1985
Model: RZ350
Location: Byron, California
Mileage: 10. Ten. X. Diez.
Price: $30,000 BIN with a current bid of $12,200

From the seller:
10 mile original bike still on mso. This is a one of a kind bike. The only bike better would still be in the crate. This bike has been sitting inside a house for over 35 years.

Alright, people. Here’s your chance to buy a brand new, 10 original mile, 1985 1/2 RZ-350, California model.

Bike has never been registered, still on the MSO from Yamaha. It comes with the original toolkit and owner’s manual, neither of which have ever been opened. The original pre-delivery checklist comes with the warranty card still attached. Brand new brochure is also included.

This bike is completely stock, not a dent or a scratch in it. The bike is dusty from sitting, but I don’t think you could find a knick or a scratch on it. It has never been dropped and it has been inside a climate-controlled environment for over 35 years. It’s like the bike just left the factory.

No modifications of any kind have been done on this bike. All nuts, bolts, and paintwork look new. No oxidation anywhere. Chain still has a little cosmoline on it. Tires are free of cracks and wear. They still have nubs. Tires are even filled with the original Japanese air. Brakes are not frozen.

This RZ-350 would be perfect for any museum. I cannot stress enough the amazing condition this bike is in. The only way you could find a cleaner one, is if you found one still in the crate.

I would be happy to take pictures of any aspect of the bike, or answer any questions you may have.

And there you have it- all original right down to the Japanese air in the original tires. Sign me up!

I’m not gonna bore you all the techy specs, years offered, rake angles, tires sizes, power outputs or fancy nicknames. You’ve read it a million times on our site, but just in case you’re bored and want a refresher you can have a look HERE

This is the real deal. A 37 year old 2 stroke, time capsule that you will probably never see again unless it comes up for sale again. I know I’m being all “mellow dramatic”, but it’s the truth. I’ll even make a prediction- As soon as this post goes live it’ll be sold within a day or two. Don’t believe me? Think it’s too much for a RZ? SHOW. ME. ANOTHER. ONE. LIKE. IT!

Click fast because this one won’t last!

Cheers!

Simple and Effective – 1985 Yamaha RZ-350 Kenny Roberts Edition

These days, it’s longer to tell what’s not onboard the RZ-350 than what is.  One of the last two-strokes in the U.S. market, there is no ECU, no 3-way adjustable dampers, no anti-dive, no traction control, no speed shifter, no fuel injection, no anti-lock brakes, etc., etc.  Just 375 lbs., 50 ponies, and maybe you.

Not completely without modern equipment, the RZ-350 did have YPVS, the electronically-controlled exhaust port, which improved rideability.  But in most other ways it was just plain riding, a 350cc two-stroke introduced in 1983, the 1985 year having a lightweight bikini fairing and red-white colors.  A 6-speed transmission helps keep the 350cc twin on the boil.  Air-preload forks are complemented by monoshock rear suspension.  Triple-disk brakes make more space between telephone poles.   4.10 x 18 front and rear tires are on pretty light looking wheels.

A number of racey mods update this RZ350 – catalyst-equipped exhaust removed in favor of expansion chambers with mufflers, and handling enhancements up front include fork brace and steering damper.  The oil metering pump has been secured in favor of pre-mix, a standard racetrack update.  Otherwise the bike looks clean and original.

Though just five of the last 30 years are accounted for, the owner says in the eBay auction:

Collector quality 1985 Yamaha RZ350 Kenny Roberts Signature Edition with only 8889 actual miles in excellent condition.  All original paint and engine. Has Toomey pipes, Daytona fork brace and a steering stabilizer that appear to be period correct. The oil pump has been disabled and is set up for pre-mix only, very common safety modification. I have the dowel pin and instructions from the original owner if you want to put it back to stock.  I also have the original pipes as well as all the smog components, hoses etc. Bike also has its original tool kit and manual. Bike starts, runs, drives, stops, and idles as it should. Mechanically sound. The tires, while having plenty of tread, are starting to get weather checked. I have lovingly owned and enjoyed this bike in my collection for the last 5 years.

Might want to replace or make a close inspection of those tires and other wear parts, but this looks to be a great very sporty RZ…

Blue Smoke, Blue Fairing- Titled ’89 Yamaha RZ 350 YPVS

Location: Newport Beach, California
Mileage: 7,700 (approximate)
Price: Auction, $5,000 current bid SOLD for $7300

Even though the US didn’t see many of the cool two-strokes that the rest of the world got, there was at least the Yamaha RZ 350. Introduced to the US in 1984 (costing $2,399 new), the bike was worked over by Yamaha to make sure it could meet emission and noise issues in the US. Sadly it was pulled from the Yamaha lineup in 1986 and never returned.

So this good looking RZ is a Canadian import that features the two-stroke, Yamaha Power Valve System (YPVS) liquid cooled motor with 63 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 32 ft.lbs. of torque. It also sports full fairing, something you didn’t see on the US Kenny Roberts bikes.

Check out some more pics-

From the seller-

Time to thin down the blue smoke two stroke herd…up for sale is a fantastic example of an 1989 RZ 350 YPVS Liquid Cooled two stroke that will be sure to impress your friends on bike night! Mileage is in kilometers on the speedo so approx 7700 miles and counting as I still ride it around once a week.

If you are a vintage bike fan you know that it is very difficult to find an RZ 350 in near mint condition as most them have been raced, crashed and rebuilt several times already.

This model is a rare Elf racing Blue color full fairing model unlike the short fairing RZs that where sold in the States during 1984-85. Also, the bike has different instrumentation as well. It runs great and all lights and instrumentation work including brake lights. There are very little to no spider cracks on the fairing. The engine looks great as well protected from the full fairing from the elements over the years.

The bike has been in my collection for about 1 yr. I purchased it from a reputable vintage bike reseller who only deals in nice stuff. It was imported from Canada and now has a clear California title in my name which makes it even more rare. The Meztler tires have plenty of life and chain and sprocket are in good shape.

The brakes have been rebuilt and the bike was recently tuned by Mach1 two stroke shop in Costa Mesa, CA. It runs great and needs nothing but a new owner carry on the two stroke tradition.

Check out the recent youtube video taken a few weeks ago.

Feel free to ask questions as I’m not a two stroke expert but I do believe this bike to be an original stock or near stock example. For sale as is with no warranty.

Also, I have a pair of Gibson Allspeed black expansion chambers in nice shape to wake up the full power of the RZ for an additional fee of $500. The bike is for sale locally so I reseve the right to end the auction early.

This bike look to be in good shape with mileage that isn’t too high. It’s also titled in California which is a bonus. The maintenance seems solid and there’s a link to video of the bike in the seller’s description. Current bid is $5,000 but the reserve has not been met. Hard to day where the price will settle, but it may be reasonable for this kind of bike. You won’t see one these cursing the streets everyday, so it will turn some heads.

If you want to try a two-stroke and love Yamaha’s and like to ride something that gets attention, take look at this auction!

1984 Yamaha RZ350 in original condition for sale-

1984 Yamaha RZ350 in original condition for sale

Location: Visalia, CA
Mileage: 5,366
Price: $5,000.00 will park it in your garage

As some of our savvy readers will quickly recognize this is the same bike that sold in record time last week. Well, it’s for sale again because of those ugly DMV/BMV workers in California that have a hang up with a little smoke.

Still in the exact same condition as it was last week and looking for another new home. Larry, the new owner, is as frustrated as any regrading the lack of understanding, from the Cali BMV, regarding our beloved smokers. His intent was to buy a legal 1984 2 stroke to putt around on, but in the end it’s a no go. So, here the bike is again, just as it was last week, only having done a few hundred miles on an enclosed trailer.

There’s really not much to say other than what was said in the earlier post.

It’s also on ebay or you can hit up Larry direct at 559-300-0037 and tell him Doug sent you-

Good luck with the sale-

Cheers!

Super Sweet 1985 Yamaha RZ350 for sale!

1985 Yamaha RZ350 For Sale

Location: Franklin, WI
Mileage: 11,083
Price: $6,500.00 with reserve in place

Fuggin Sweet! This has to be one of the cleanest RZ 350’s I’ve ever seen! Simply amazing and I’d love to rock this one to the Clubhouse on Thursday night.

I really have to admire the seller of this machine. For those that haven’t owned a smoker you’ll probably not appreciate how clean it is, but for those that have you know about the dreaded ‘2 stroke Spooge’ that just magically appears. I’ve scoured these pictures and don’t see any of the aforementioned Spooge. Good on ya seller for taking care of your scooter 😉

From the listing:

This bike has never been abused. I am selling the bike with the solo seat cowl but have all the stock parts that are included in the sale. The head light cowl has a small stress crack due to vibration. This is not visible unless you bend over to look under the head light. The seat pad that is attached to the solo cowl has a small tear along the seam. The bike is really clean and other than the two things I mentioned is in excellent condition. Bike starts on first or second kick.

It just so happens that I’ll be in Franklin this weekend and would love to have a reason to stop in and check this one out. Anyone want to ask me to look at it for them?? Hmmm? Anyone?

Yamaha Power Valve Systems worked as well as any back in the day and if memory serves me correctly the little RZ sported about 45hp. I know 45 ponies doesn’t do much for today’s sport bike rider, but you couple that with less than adequate 18″ bologna rind tires and you’ve got a lot to handle.

to see a lot more hi res photos. This one looks awesome!

Cheers!
