A litter of Ducati Desmosedici D16RRs for sale – take your pick!

Sometimes there are just so many cool and rare bikes for sale out there that it’s hard to choose which ones to post. I came across a few Bayliss reps and 1098Rs, which in their own rights are rare birds, but for me the ultimate still has to be the Desmosedici. I have located 8 (would you believe it?) for sale around the world (I figure if you are in the market for one, where they are in the world doesn’t really matter, right?) and here they are:

Desmosedici #418 for sale in New York

:

Ducati Desmosedici #190 for sale in Michigan

(this one has a long list of tasty upgrades added):

Ducati Desmosedici #869 for sale in Portland
#1033 for sale in Peterborough, UK (fitted with race pipe and ECU):

Ducati Desmosedici #1033 for sale in UK

:

Ducati Desmosedici #872 for sale in Hertfordshire, UK

:

Ducati Desmosedici for sale in Cambridgeshire, UK

:

Ducati Desmosedici #767 for sale in Italy

And the last one, :

Ducati Desmosedici for sale in Genoa Italy

I never thought I’d see so many D16RRs up for sale at one time.  Any lucky prospective buyer will get the opportunity to hand pick the best from this bunch.  Now where did I put that lottery ticket?!

Kawasaki KR-1

Located in Ayr, Ontario Canada is a Kawasaki KR-1 of unknown year.  Unfortunately, this bike is located in Canada which makes it difficult (to say the least) for anyone in the U.S. but it is in North America so I guess our readers should be aware!  Seller doesn’t state much other than general facts about the KR-1 line.  However, it looks to be stock and in good condition–excluding the fact that it shows some oxidation and the tank looks to have been repainted–from the photos with the odometer showing 11,278km (7,007mi).  The asking price is $3,000–not stated as USD or CAD.  See the bike on North American Two Strokes here.

1994 Honda RVF400R NC35

Located in San Francisco, California is a titled and registered 1994 Honda RVF400R.  It looks to be in very good condition, it has gone down in the past but has been professionally repaired.  This RVF has 16,500km (10,252mi).  See sellers listing below:

Excellent Condition

Red/White/Blue
16.5K Kilometers (10k miles)
Stock
Valve adjusted (11/11/2009)
Carb cleaned (11/11)
New spark plugs (11/11)
New Petcock (11/11)
New Battery (06/12)
New Rectifier (08/05)
Oil changed (11/05)
New Fairings
Traxton front and rear suspension

Extras:

Rashed RVF aftermarket race fairings
dented, but funtional; gas tank
Pit-Bull stand
8 new spark plugs
Spare Petcock
Spare rectifier
New air filter kit
Extra seat
Hanes RVF Manuel

And some quick history of this particular bike:

I purchased this bike in May 2009. I rode it 5 times before letting it sit in my garage for 6 months.

I recently brought my RVF to BRG Racing in Concord, Ca for service (11/11), being that it was stored for 6 months. The owner KC and mechanics cleaned the carbs, adjusted the valves and put in new spark plugs. The RVF ran better than when I first purchased it.

I have logged a total of 350 miles since my 04/09 purchase. My work consumes me, so I really have no time to ride.

History emailed by previous owner:

It went down at Laguna Seca 5 years ago. Computrak measured and
Straightened(Front forks only…No frame damage) it so it is as good as new (have the receipt from them).
Bodywork is brand new. Tank was replaced after the crash (dented tank
Included along with the track plastic) but over the last 5 years has a few
Marks on it and one small paint chip (which my wife touched up with Subaru
Touch-up paint). The plastic is immaculate (it was all replaced after the
Crash). For a 15 yr old bike I think it’s in fantastic shape.

The asking price is $5,700.  So, the bike has some history, but it does look to get in great condition now.  How does it’s history change it’s current value?  See the bike on Bay Area Riders Forum here.

2006 Yamaha R1 Limited Edition–Still in the crate

Again, I know R1s aren’t rare but, the LEs are and this one is still in the crate.  Located in Cedar Hills, Oregon is a 2006 Yamaha R1 Limited Edition in unused condition.  To quote the seller:

I have a 2006 Yamaha YZF-R1 Limited Edition for sale. This is one of only 500 ever produced, and still in the original crate at my warehouse. It’s in pristine condition, has never turned a wheel except maybe after it rolled off the assembly line and into it’s shipping container.  This bike sold for $18,000 new, and I purchased it primarily as a collector’s item never intending to use it. A nice display piece for sure, but would be great for weekend rides, or track days for someone who wants one of the best all time sportbikes, unmatched for it’s speed, powerful engine and superb handling.  The bike is still in the crate, but I will be happy to assemble and service it for the new owner. I am a career Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki tech.  A factory service manual, owner’s manual, and Limited Edition R1 tool kit will be included with purchase.

The asking price is $12,995.  So, if you missed the Limited Editions around the first time or you’re a very serious collector, this might be the bike for you.  Sorry, no photos.  See the Craigslist ad here.

1998 Honda CBR600F3 SE Smokin’ Joe Edition

Now, I know, generally CBRs aren’t rare at all but a Smokin’ Joe Ed. is somewhat rare and this is supposedly the first ’98.  Located in Morgan Hill, California is a clean looking 1998 CBR600F3.  The seller only states that: “This bike is CLEAN. Low miles, new tires, upgraded exhaust…This bike was the FIRST Smokin Joe EVER made, VIN shows ..001”  This last part isn’t entirely true but it may be the first 1998 SE–with the probable VIN of JH2PC253*WM750001.  The seller is asking $5,000.  If you’re a collector or just looking for something different, this might be worth a look.  See the ad on Craigslist here.

Would you like to ride the same bike as your hero?

Located in Northern California are three AMA superbikes.  See description below:

3 Yoshimura Suzuki AMA superbikes

Please be aware that two of the three have all of the data logging, traction control, and race instrument clusters removed. This drops the price considerably. Due to the current AMA roadracing rules, Yoshimura Suzuki bought these bikes from a dealership before converting them to race bikes. So they have proper VIN, registration, and titles! So in essence, one could convert these 200+ HP Superbikes into streetbikes if they wanted.

The last bike listed is Mat Mladin’s race bike, as is, with all the insane factory race bits still on the bike. As a matter of fact, the tires are still the same ones still on this bike as last raced.

Due to the new homologation rules of the AMA Superbike series, Yoshimura Suzuki started out the 2009 season using 2008 bikes. So though these are ’08 models, they were only built back at the beginning of this year, just in time to start the 2009 race season. This is the real deal. Factory spec full on superbikes.

1996 RGV250 Gamma VJ23

Available in Northern California is a 1996 RGV250 in what looks to be amazing condition. The ad as posted by the seller:

I am sad to say that I am forced to sell my 96 RGV250. I have spent the last 3 1/2 years building the bike.

This is a extremely rare 1996 RGV250 VJ23. There were only 2218 bikes made between Feb 96 and Sept 96. The bike has a unique 70 degree motor based on the Suzuki GP bikes. There are maybe 15 to 20 of these bikes in the USA.

Here is a list of the modifications I have done:

– Ohlins radial front forks with the Brembo radial calipers
– Galfer wave rotors
– Yoshmura billet triple clamps w/modification to fit stock ignition lock
– Penske triple clicker rear shock
– Marchesini magnesium 10 spoke wheels f/3.5″ and r/5.5″
– New Michelin Pilot Power 2ct tires
– Custom rear caliper bracket with brembo caliper
– Sugaya race pipes (Not the Lomas as seen in the pictures below)
– Sugaya R2 cdi
– Has oil injection (not premix)
– Ca titled with new registration(November) for the next year
– Recent complete rebuild

I want $15,000 firm for the bike. No tire kickers please…and no test rides until there is cash in hand.

Sorry no trades of anykind.
Feel free to contact me with any questions…

** The pictures below show the bike with Jim Lomas pipes….the bike currently has Sugaya race pipes and thats whats being sold**

The asking price is $15,000 and is titled and registered in California.  See the ad on Bay Area Riders Forum here.
