Located in Point Loma, California is a titled and registered Honda NSR150SP.  The year of the bike isn’t mentioned but mileage is listed at 36,000km (22,369mi).  New tires, Tyga exhaust & jets, and Tyga rear sets.  The asking price is $5,500 (This could possibly be the same bike we posted awhile ago in Orange County).  See this very clean looking Repsol Replica on Craigslist here.

Track Honda NSR250 SE MC21 & NSR50R

Let me start by wishing all a happy fourth of July!  Located in Mansfield, Ohio is a NSR250 & NSR50 both in good, track condition, but untitled.  The NSR250 has RVF400 inverted forks, Tyga exhaust, and HRC front head upgrade.  The plastics aren’t factory, but said to be in good condition.  The NSR50 is in the process of being converted to a street bike.  Seller states that it has some cracks in the plastics and could use a front tire.  Seller also claims that the NSR50 is on a MSO, so it should be easily titled, but, I wouldn’t guarantee that depending on your state–the fifties were never street legal here.  If you’re interested, see the Craigslist ad here.

1990 Honda VFR750R RC30

Located in Martinez, California is a two owner 1990 Honda VFR750R RC30.  The seller states that he has installed “Brembos and an Olins rear shock and the rc45 rear wheel and CBR600 front wheel.”  but includes all the original pieces as well.  The bike looks like it has been sitting, could use some cleaning up and possibly a chain & sprockets but otherwise is in good condition.  This RC30 has a starting bid of $15,000 and a buy-it-now of $18,000.  See the eBay ad here.

EDIT: This bike received no bids with a starting price of $15,000 and no reserve.  06/28/2009

1994 Honda RVF400R NC35

Located in Massachusetts is a track prepared 1994 Honda RVF400R NC35.  The bike has no title and is far from street legal with supposedly $10k invested in it.  This NC35 looks like it needs to be gone through before it hits the track again, the seller doesn’t mention the last time it was run but mentions that it only has 5300km–the odometer shows 14532km.  This would be quite a capable track bike once cleaned up and gone through.  See the eBay ad here.

1995 Honda RVF400R NC35

On a tip from Victor, we have a 1995 Honda RVF400 NC35 located in San Diego, California.  This is a California titled and registered example with some cosmetic damage but nothing that would prevent it from being ridden proudly.  If you saw the recently restored example from Florida recently advertised at $9k, this California registered example looks quite good at a reasonable asking price of $6500.  See the Craigslist ad here.

Restored Honda RVF400R NC35 $9000

Located in Tampa, Florida is a gorgeous, recently restored Honda RVF400R (NC35).  A beautifully presented example, this bike shows a recent, documented, restoration to stock with some additional carbon fiber ad-ons. Seller states:

Comes with track upper fairing, race can, some spares, all original OEM parts that I replaced, Haynes manual, parts manuals, decals, graphics, etc. The bike is 100% complete and even comes with OEM tool kit. I even have several hundred digital pics to document the entire journey.

Not cheap, but, this bike has recently been gone through, restored, and sorted.  NC35’s are only getting rarer and I don’t see them going down in value anytime soon.  See the Bay Area Riders Forum post here. See the documented restoration thread here.

1990 VFR400 NC30 $4300

A request from a reader, Ozzie, to locate a NC30 generated this find on the Reno Craigslist.  Located in Sparks, Nevada (Just north of Reno) is a 1990 Honda VFR400 NC30.  Currently registered and titled in Nevada, this Japan market bike looks quite good but carries some rash and “runs hot” at stoplights.  This could be quite an issue if it isn’t as simple as the need for a new thermostat that the seller is claiming.  One question to ask yourself is, if the problem is so easy to fix, why hasn’t the seller done it before bringing it to market?  If indeed the thermostat is to blame, it would be an easy fix to be a genuinely nice, gray-market bike.  The ad doesn’t list mileage but mentions new front pads and fork seals, unrestricted black box, ceramic coated OX headers, carbon can, new rear sprocket and smoked windscreen.  The ad is a little vague, but with something as rare as this, you only need to let people know it’s on the market and they can contact you from there.  If you’re interested, see the Craigslist ad here.
