One Owner 1987 Suzuki GSX-R 750 in Miami


One owner since 1987 and from the looks of it, it was taken care of by an adult. Everything appears complete and aside from the scratches on the one side, a very tidy motorcycle. With nearly 19k miles, this listing has a buy-it-now of $6,300.

It is blue and white which are the most desirable colors and runs and drives like new. It has a few small nicks and scratches which I have shown comprehensively in the photos. Not Blue and White: 1991 GSXR-750 in Black and Silver


The Suzuki GSX-R750 is an icon and prices for the first and second generation bikes are already on the rise, with pristine versions of the “slabbie’ and “slingshot” bring top dollar.  This is a 3rd generation bike (it has the glassed in dual headlight) and prices for these haven’t started to climb…yet.

The 1991 model was the last Suzuki GSX-R to use the oil-cooled SACS engine.   For 1991 the focus of the changes was more on usability and comfort than performance, so the bike had a more comfortable seat as well as different headlamps and tail lamps/lights.  The changes resulted in the bike being 15kg heavier than the 1990 model but performance was still good with the bike putting out 116 bhp.

The 1991/3rd edition bikes also offer a new style of bodywork;  a black/silver blue instead of the previous years red/black/white.  Most people seemed to want the classic Suzuki blue/white, probably because it was similar to the bodywork on the Suzuki race bikes and the black/silver/blue didnt sell as well, which makes this particular bike something of a rarity.

This GSX-R750 shows about 28000 miles so it hasn’t been a garage queen but the condition looks to be truly excellent.  The seller indicates that the bike might have some small scuffs and scratches but I am not seeing anything significant in the pictures attached to the auction.   The engine area, seats and tank all look to be in excellent condition.  The bike even appears to come with the standard exhaust which was something that often got removed/replaced with an aftermarket piece.

Whats this 3rd generation GSX-R750 worth?  Well pristine examples of the 2nd generation bikes have gone for prices up to 8300 USD on RSBFS.   The current bid price for this one is under 2000 with reserve not yet met but I expect the price to go up before the auction ends.  Personally I think this one will appeal to someone who had one previously who wants to relive a bit of their hooligan youth or a collector who wants to take a bit of a gamble on whether these 3rd generation bikes will increase in value like the 1st and 2nd generation have.  Or maybe somebody who just likes the blue wheels…

Prior to 1985 and the introduction of the GSX-R 750, Japanese sport and race bikes were all about more. Even Suzuki’s own GS1000S was a huge lump of steel and aluminum to hustle around a track in Superbike racing. While watching riders wrestle these beasts around a track made for great entertainment, lighter is always going to be faster and, with few exceptions, lightweight speed at the time was owned by the two-stroke brigade: four-stroke refinement came burdened by additional weight and bulk.

Other bikes like Kawasaki’s GPz’s stuck their toes into the water in an effort to give riders a complete package of power, agility, and handling, but it wasn’t until the Suzuki’s GSX-R750 that the rules for streetbikes were really rewritten.

Unleashed in 1985, the original “Slabby” GSX-R came with a 750cc, air and oil-cooled engine to save weight compared to water-cooling. An aluminum-alloy beam frame, four-piston calipers and a monoshock rear completed the package, setting the pattern that sportbikes would follow up until today. Despite being nearly thirty years old, only the 18” wheels really give the bike’s age away.

1986 saw a revised swingarm and other minor changes to the regular production model, but the LE featured here was a different beast altogether. An homologation special, it came with a very desirable dry clutch, lightweight aluminum tank, and a solo seat, along with Suzuki’s electronic anti-dive forks.

This particular bike that’s been hiding up in the great white north of Canada isn’t perfect, but could be with just a little bit of work.

Rare limited edition with the dry clutch, magnesium covers, electronic forks, rear shock with remote reservoir, hand laid fiberglass tail sections, no passenger seat on this bike, 1000 made worldwide, this bike is all original with only 22,000 kilometers runs good and sounds awesome, clutch works as it should.

This bike had a storage tipover and there is a dent on the tank, left side on the R note there is no scrapes shoing it wasn’t moving the front fender flexed and the paint flaked off in places.

This one currently sits at $5,600 with just a day left and the reserve not met. With just north of 13,000 miles on the clock, and just 200 of these imported to satisfy AMA Superbike requirements, they were rare even when new. Since many led a hard life on race tracks, it’s especially hard to find one as nice as this. It’s not perfect, but that could just keep costs down. If you’re looking for a first-generation GSX-R, this could be your bike.

Restored 1986 Suzuki GSX-R 750 in Colorado


This seller in Colorado has a great looking GSX-R 750 for sale that is listed as restored. Unfortunately there are no additional details. In the specifics of the eBay listing it shows just under 6800 miles and on the dealer’s website it displays a $8999 asking price. As I go over all the pictures I have to say it’s in remarkable shape, but looks more refreshed than restored.

We’ve enjoyed quite a string of original, low mileage bikes as of late and here’s another: A one owner 1990 Suzuki GSX-R 750 and damn it’s sexy! Not only is it all there, it still has it’s factory tool kit, original tires, both keys, and both seats. Personally I’d have to ride it a bit regardless of the miles so I think tires and some fresh fluids are probably in order. Nonetheless, it’s a no reserve auction and you can expect bidding to be brisk with a bike this mint.

As the seller notes, in 1991 the GSX-R 750 was one hot ticket and most of the good ones are long gone. This example is advertised as mostly original with the exception of the missing steering damper and signals, aftermarket exhaust, and upgraded pod filters. The pictures provided are very high resolution and reveal a well kept motorcycle. Bidding has stalled near $4500 reserve not met, but alot of eBay bikes are being sold offline so we wish the seller luck and hope they’ll share the result with us.

I am selling my 1991 SUZUKI GSX-R 750. I purchased the bike from the original owner for my collection of GSX-R’S almost 4 years ago. This GSX-R is really in amazing condition and with only 5,920 miles on it. Never been down or abused, been garaged since new and never seen rain. This bike is very close to flawless. There is one very small ding on the right side of the tank, under the U and it’s about 1/4 inch round or the size of a pinky nail, A few light scratches on the right rear fairing from getting on and off the bike, front fender has an area where paint has been rubbed away, and the seat has a few areas that have started to split along the edge… None of these things are really noticeable, I just want to point out any imperfections. When I purchased the bike it had aftermarket turn signals which I removed, Was missing a steering damper which I never replaced since I never intended on really riding the bike, The stock exhaust system was replaced with a Yoshimura system and the stock airbox was replaced with K&N filters. So, no signals, no steering damper, no stock exhaust or airbox with this sale. These GSX-R’S are very rare & hard to find in this condition and mileage. This was the hottest bike to have in its time and for that there are very few left that haven’t been crashed, junked, or just plain ridden to the ground. Especially in blue and white factory team color scheme. I do start the bike and take it for short ride’s once a month or so and it is in great running condition and starts and rides as it should. Don’t miss the opportunity to own this beautiful piece of Suzuki history. I will also include a very rare 4to1 Yoshimura Duplex system for this bike that I purchased off ebay years ago and never got around to installing it on the bike. I had the header pipe and mid pipe refinished at Yoshimura USA. The carbon can does have some surface scratches which can be seen in the pics

We’ve been seeing alot of mass produced survivors coming out hiding for sale this fall, and here’s another in this 92 GSX-R with it’s most excellent black on pink. Fitted with aftermarket exhaust and windscreen, it is otherwise amazingly stock and complete. Seller is upfront about decal damage on lower fairings and includes a nice back story on how he came to own it. With about 12k miles the seller is looking for $4500 buy-it-now.

Up for sale is one of the most rare and most sought after 1992 Suzuki GSX-R750’s ever produced. This was the last year for the oil cooled version. This is the Black and Pink “N” code bike. The previous owner purchased this bike in September of 1994 with 2,658 miles. The bike holds a clear Texas title. The only modifications to the bike seem to be the Yoshimura exhaust and what I believe is an alarm. Other than that, it is bone stock. I recently had it serviced. The oil and filter were changed, the carb was completely rebuilt, inspected the entire bike for leaks and a new battery was put in. Both tires are a little weak. I’d say they are around 20%-25%. If you are familiar with the early 1990’s GSX-R’s, you know that 99.9% of them are scraped up on the lower fairings on both sides on the “Suzuki” decal because of the design. Those particular areas stick out and catch the majority of rocks and debris that the bike might encounter during regular riding. I have included the scuffs in the pictures. It wouldn’t be hard to have a new decal printed up and replaced.
