1992 Ducati 900ss Black on White!

I’ll admit it….. I had to ask Dan if this was, in fact, a rare Ducati worth posting. And for all of our Ducati fans who already know about these, Dan’s answer was an astounding “YES!”; of course, he attached the “only if it’s real” disclaimer. But, you can be the judge as to the authenticity of this Ducati.

Quotes from the seller:

This Duck is unmolested less a couple modifications I made when purchased new “yes I purchased this bike new in 1991.” I have been told that today as few as 3 and as many as 13 of the Black on White Café Racers exist. What I do know for certain this is the best example with the lowest miles.

This beauty has a starting bid of $3,000 and a B.I.N price of $8,900. I checked our archives and couldn’t find any “Cafe Racer” 900ss listed. I’m not that familiar with these, but the BIN price is as high as anything we’ve posted in the past. I would love to hear some comments to back up what the seller is stating and that there are only 13 of these in the world? That seems to be far fetched considering they are only asking $8,900. I would have to believe if there were only 13 of any Ducati in the world the price would considerably higher.

1996 Ducati 900 SP #973 of 1000

I know we’ve had several SP’s recently, but here is another one for everyone to drool over.

1996 Ducati 900SS SP # 973 0f 1000 made. Bike is showroom mint with only 5451 miles. Always stored in a heated garage.

All steel braided lines for brakes and clutch.

Brand new Pirelli Corsa tires.

Micron exhaust.

K&N modified air box.

New mikuni carbs with stage one jet kit.

Black hollow spoke Brembo wheels.

Oil cooling jets for pistons.

Full floating front brakes.

I have the factory exhaust the tools and stands all included in auction.

This one has a very low 5451 on the clock and has some very nice mods. I am particularly fond of the black Brembo wheels on this one. The seller has saved the stock parts, tool kit and rear stand which is always nice when considering a purchase of a limited production bike. At $9,250 it seems to be a fair price, but having just completed a check of previous 900SS posts on RSBFS they might be hanging on this one for a while. It seems the market won’t support the asking prices of most SP owners. I’ve seen several stall around 5 – 6k this year.

1998 Ducati 900SS FE – bargain!

Hi, it’s my first post contributing to RSBFS, so if I made any boo-boos, please bear with me. So, with that out of the way…what we have here is a nice example of a for sale on eBay.

The FE stands for “Final Edition”, the last batch of monoposto air-cooled super sports before the new injected version. There are only 800 of these world wide, with 300 of them for the US market. FE’s share similar running gear to earlier Superlights with higher exhaust, carbon bits, and single seat. Each FE has a number metal plaque on the top triple clamp and this one is #283.

FEs have been averaging around 5500, so this one at 3500 is an absolute steal! The bike looks clean and have some aftermarket bits on it as well – someone would be very happy with this (I know I would be)!

Two Nice Ducati’s to Wake Up To: 851 Strada and 900 SuperLight

I can’t say I’ve ever seen a Strada for sale in the U.S. before. Check out this (21k miles, $1050 reserve not met with 5 days to go):

Black on White 1995 Ducati 900SS

The factory black and white Ducati 900SS is a very rare combination and highly sought after because it’s a dead sexy combination hardly ever seen in the wild. Unfortunately it seems only the 1992 model received that treatment from what I can research. Nonetheless, it looks very well looked after and worth a look for $4300. It’s in Everett, Washington on Craigslist:

1993 Ducati 900SS SuperLight #661

Located in Miami, Florida is a 1993 Ducati 900SS SuperLight with 13,591 miles. This is a two owner bike with new tires, timing belts, battery and fitted with Marvic wheels. Bike was sitting for some time and looks like it could use some clean up to become quite nice. Seller states it has some minor scratches and cracks to the bodywork.

1997 Ducati 900 SS/SP with less than 1k miles!

Andrew emailed me to alert me that his super low miles 97 Ducati 900SS/SP was now listed on Maryland Craigslist for $5400:

1993 Bimota DB2 in San Fran for $10999

I thought Alex had found all sweet Bimotas for sale in the country in last month’s Bimota Friday post. But this one looks like a fresh addition. A 1993 Bimota DB2 on San Francisco Craigslist:

The Bimota DB2 borrows the Ducati 900SS running gear of the same era, but that frame, bodywork, and trick suspension isn’t! I’m pretty sure that gauge cluster is the exact same one in my 750SS though!
