1991 Honda NSR250R MC21 For Sale

1991 Honda NSR250R MC21 For Sale

Location: Georgetown, IN
Mileage: 9,500
Price: $4,600.00 $4300 Update: Sale Pending!

This one sports all OEM plastics and they are in decent shape. I’ll call them a 6.5/7 out of 10 with no major cracking, but the tabs on the lower belly pan are broken off and the upper has a small piece missing where mirror mounts.

100% stock other than Tyga canisters. She sports a new top end, ultrasonically cleaned carbs and will start on the first or second kick. Runs strong and is an absolute blast to ride.

I do not have this one titled so it will be sold with a BOS only.

Please review all the pictures and ask any questions.

I will help with shipping in anyway I can, but will not incur any of the expenses.

I’m open to trades as well- Perhaps an R6 or CBR600rr so just hit me up with what you have and please don’t offer me a 4 wheeler 😉

1991 Honda NSR250SP MC21? Wait a second…

1991 Honda NSR 250SP MC21, but not really-

Location: West Islip, NY
Mileage: 12,000
Price: $12,500.00

This is an NSR250SP Fresh motor and two, yes two complete sets of body work including tanks.

One set Repsol and one set Rothmans.
Frame and Title are MC-21 and everything else is MC-28
A bunch of extras and a ton of trick parts.

Custom triple tree upper, fork brace, oil injector block off, tyga rear sets, carbon reeds and customer reed stops, reed stuffers, HRC jet kit, steel braided lines, customer front and rear brake resevoirs, , new clutch cable, carbon dry clutch cover, Kiss 1/4 turn throttle, rare magtek wheels, fresh metzlers, tyga expansion chambers and carbon fiber silencers, rear sprockets, light weight tyga meter stay, carbon meter cover, lightweight clip ons, tyga rear section, custom sub-frame, tyga battery box, I have both the keys for this the stock MC28 PGM4 credit card key and the very very difficult to get HRC race card key unleasing the extra power

I also have a parts manual, its in japanese but really helpful.

But that is not wat makes this bike unique, what really makes it unique is it is titled and registered on the real serial number and proper name. NY State title.

this is a bike I have onwed for many years and swore to myself I would never sell it. but never say never, it just doesnt fit in a family life style 🙁

Dont get me wrong this is not a show bike, this is a kickass unique race bike that is street legal. I when you go to shows, trust me everyone looks to see who’s on the dirtbike, wait thats no dirt bike!

So like I said it a 2 stroke and it doesnt stay clean too well.

Its not running right now I put a fresh top end on it and was getting ready to install a new wiriing harness from Tyga premade to accept lights and turn signals with the HRC card.

Wow, I’m not sure where to start-

Lets start with the pictures- Rothmans photo has aluminum colored frame- Repsol has black colored frame. Which is it?

If this is a SP model MC21 it will have adjustable suspenders on the front and rear along with the dry clutch and Magteks; which the seller says it has. The thing worth noting is that if it is a ‘true’ SP it has lost all it’s value because it is now a mixed SP of sorts.

True SP’s, with low mileage, can bring money close to the BIN price of this machine when there is one available- which isn’t very often. I do know where a true Rothamans MC21 that is for sale. If this is the going rate for MC’s any prospective buyer is going to miss out on a few good deals because our prices are going up… and quick! Not knocking this machine, but come on man we need to be realistic.

I understand that a seller can ask whatever price they see fit to ask and it’s up to a buyer to determine ‘what is what’. For me this is a…. You know what? I’m not going to finish that sentence because there’s no reason to. Our viewers know ‘what is what’

Back to the bike- It has plenty to offer the right buyer. The right buyer will be someone who likes to tinker and clean what we 2 stroke guys call ‘Spooge’. That’s right- SPOOGE! It always sounds better when you scream it in disgust because you have to wipe it off- again!

This one has a liberal sprinkling of Tyga dust with the rear sets, pipes, carbon reeds and bodywork. If the Rothmans bodywork is real OEM SP stuff it’s worth a considerable amount, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it’s probably not of OEM vintage considering the rest of the bike. A set of any OEM NSR bodywork can bring upwards of $1,000.00 in great shape, but SP bodywork, with the tank…. well, that’s another level all together.

The HRC card that is mentioned kills the lights for track use only. It’s difficult to find one and when you do it needs to be fiddled with to make it play nice with the street functions of the PGM IV. Since all NSR engines are the same, sans the wet or dry clutch, most people prefer to modify the MC21’s and not fool with the PGM IV cards. The cards have plenty of ‘neat’ factor, but have a lot more PITA factor to offer if you lose one, get it wet, step on it etc. PGM III’s are easier to modify and use regular keys for the ignition.

I wish the seller all the luck in the world in selling his beloved NSR for $12,500.00 because that will only increase the value in my 2 little guys.

Ah yes, the boys at Speedwerks have been at it once again. This time they are offering a MC21 in Honda fighting colors and this one has been gone through with a fine tooth comb.

Looks like it was just taken off the showroom floor all over again and your ready to take it out on it’s maiden voyage doesn’t it?

Here we go again (Neon Trees 🙂 ) with yet another pimped out NSR250. This latest offering has something that we don’t see too much of in the states as compared to the European and Asian markets and that is the Tyga racer replica bodywork. I’m totally down with it and I’m sure you will be as well.

It looks fast sitting still and you know with the Tyga exhausts it sounds as good as it looks. Although, this one isn’t sporting a title it does have a lot going for it such as the Tyga exhausts, Tyga bodywork kit, Tyga rear sets, good mileage and lets not forget that snazzy red chain.

Tyga Body in Fortuna Colors and Exhaust Pipe. Very Nice… I’ll let the pictures do the talking. No title, but it is easy to get through itstitle.com (i just haven’t done it) Runs great.

Not too much info, but at a current bid of $5,000.00 the high bidder can’t go wrong at this point. My guess is that this one will sell in the mid 6’s.

1993 Honda 250 NSR Replica “Rothmans” Honda: This bike is not perfect but it all there. Roughly 9500 miles, tank needs to be ckeaned and sealed, carbs need cleaning.
Aftermarket nikon pipes, dry clutch…….. let me know if you have any other questions.

Found this little gem today while trolling CL and it’s CHEAP! Can you really go wrong for $2,500 bucks?

1993 Honda NSR250R MC21 Titled & Registered In Washington State

This is a very nice MC21 NSR that has come up for sale again!  Located in Seattle, Washington is a 1993 Honda NSR250R registered and titled in Washington state.  This bike has 9,600km (5,965mi) and has never seen the track.  The seller states that this bike is in original condition with some small scratches and scrapes.  We saw this bike in August of 2009 with 75 less kilometers and an asking price of $3,900.  The current asking price is $5,800; don’t hate the seller for the possibility of making a profit on the bike as he bought it for a steal.  Have a look at the PhotoBucket album that has a number of detailed photos here.  See this great looking MC21 on Craigslist here.

1993 Honda MC21 NSR250SP For Sale in the Pacific Northwest

Collin has given me the heads up that he’s ready to part ways with his 93 NSR250SP. Here are some details:

  • Its a 12,000 kilometer (7456 miles) 1993 SP.
  • The motor was rebuilt and the barrels were modified a bit by someone in California (Im told, Ive never seen stock ones off a bike so I cant say what was done, I know with the stock pipes its probably not really doing much)
  • have some paperwork, and its been de-restricted.
  • I have reason to believe, someone used it as a track bike or a race bike in Japan, Its been down I think, but never by me or the last guy who is a Portland local. Its not in bad shape anywhere
  • Oil pump is there and still working
  • includes a complete and nearly perfect painted set of Tyga Fox-eye bodywork painted like the teal Repsol racers to go with it.
  • Plastics are currently either airtech, or otherwise repro stock looking stuff painted like a YZR GP bike

Titled and Plated in WA

According to the subframe numbers, its a ’91 SE. (I bought it thinking 93 SP/SE bike)
12,900kms
Top end was done by Eric Gorr with a mild port, but I’m not sure exactly when in the bike’s history.
It is de-restricted, so it should be around 50-60hp at the back tire just guessing.

Comes with a full set of TYGA spares body work in perfect shape, with a painted matching tank, and a few other parts (spare ignition, etc)

5500 firm, I’m not interested in any trades, unless you’ve got a Ferrari F40 your sick of. I just need more money for racing.

1992 Honda NSR250(R) MC21 In A Very Cool Replica Scheme

This NSR250 has to have one of the coolest replica paint schemes we’ve seen!  Located in Saint Petersburg, Florida is a 1992 Honda NSR250 finished as a replica Foggy-Petronas FP1.  While gentlemen prefer 100% original paint work, if you have a bike that isn’t perfect cosmetically, creativity will always win out over a can of Krylon™ flat-black. This bike does have a crazy amount of miles–for a U.S. NSR–at 19,421mi but, it does feature a rebuilt motor.  It is also titled and registered for street use and features Tyga exhaust and “electronics” (I’m guessing their power-up kit).  Some view the MC21 as the most usable NSR as they weren’t plagued by the electronics of the later generation.  Now, what makes this bike cool?  Well, if you didn’t know, Carl Fogarty joined up with Malaysian oil giant Petronas to create a bike to compete in World SuperBike.  The resultant bike was a tripple that did quite poorly in WSB but, still needed to be Homologated for WSB use.  As it happens, the FP1 was such a failure that Petronas decided to simply cut their losses and shelve all existence of the bike with supposedly only two street versions actually being sold.  That is all well and good but, what does that have to do with this bike.  Well, when most vehicles are turned into replica’s, it’s usually of the crap variety complete with eBay Ferrari stickers in abundance; This bike however has nothing, really, in common with what the replica is based on but, it is still very cool because no one will know what it is a replica of, and if they do, they’ll be someone you’ll actually want to chat with and not someone who’s uncles-friend-knows-a-guy who owns a Ferrari.  This bike is actually a pretty good Troy Corser replica too:  The stickers appear to be a little too small but they’re still the right ones and in the right places.  I must clarify:  I usually hate replicas with a passion but this one is obscure enough that no one will even know it’s a replica because they don’t know what Petronas or a NSR is anyway.  The asking price is $6,500 which I would imagine to be a bit high but we’ve seen MC21’s all over the spectrum.  Here is some interesting recent information on the FP1.  Some quick, general, information about the FP1 can be found on Wikipedia here.  See the Craigslist post for the NSR here.
