Yamaha RZ500 For Sale in Tacoma

This Craigslist Ad for an RZ500 is short on details, so I’ll just post the whole thing:

Street legal 4 cyl. 2 stroke street bike!Lots of time and money invested!Have all original parts as well. This bike runs and rides perfectly!GREAT street bike!Lots of fun to own and ride!Call if you have any questions

But these aren’t exactly easy to come by. If you’re in the market, $9500 might be a touch on the high end. But the pictures do look awfully good…

2006 Paul Smart 1000LE For Sale in Lynnwood

I spotted this bike for sale on DesmoNorthwest. While not exactly what you’d call rare, they’re definitely not commonplace either. And for $9700 I think you do a lot worse if looking for something special.

2006 Paul Smart 1000LE For Sale on Desmo Northwest

quote from DesmoNorthwest post:

OK guys, I’ve got to trim the herd of bikes in the garage. You know you have too many bikes when you have to start bugging your kids to store your bikes in their garage. Up for sale now is the Ducati. This one is going to hurt. The bike resides just north of Seattle.

This is probably the sexiest machine you’ll ever wrap your legs around.

The bike is basically stock…. because stock is pretty friggin’ impressive. She’s suspended with Ohlin’s suspension and has a nice throaty growl from the stock exhaust.

1993 Ducati 888 SPO For Sale in Santa Barbara

Here’s a nice low miles Ducati 888 SPO for sale in California. The 888 is final evolution of the 851 Superbike and is the precursor to legendary Ducati 916.

quote from seller’s Craigslist Ad:

A very clean example of an early Superbike. Upgraded Renegade carbon exhaust cans, Goldline controls w/ CRG levers, white Marchesini wheels, clutch slave, Barnett clutch basket/ clutch plates, Speedymoto pressure plate. Only 9,400 miles. Always garaged and kept very clean. A beautiful bike to add to a your stable.

The 888 has a cult following and prices are on the rise. With a character all it’s own, this looks nice at $10.5k. Still not convinced? Check out this great 888 video (not the bike for sale) on YouTube:

1989 Yamaha FZR OW-01 For Sale in France

I know it’s not exactly in the neighborhood, but these just don’t come up for sale anywhere that often. And this one looks perfect, though it bloody well should be at $22k!

1989 Yamaha FZR OW01 For Sale

quote from seller’s website, classic-motorbikes.com:

This rare Yamaha 750 FZR OW 01, is a real collectors item. With only 4002 km and in exceptional original condition. First registered in France on the 15/06/1989 where it’s still registered and has had just two owners.

This French model bike also has the complete “Full Power” kit (145 hp) fitted. The as new racing exhaust is available with the bike as are the original tool kit and owner’s manual. Available in France.

I saw one of these for sale in person years ago in Portland at Bob Lamphere’s place. At the time I recall thinking the asking of nearly $12k was outrageous. Not so much now…

*** IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR READERS ***

I will not be posting any more new posts at this URL and will instead be posting at RareSportBikesForSale.com. This new website looks exactly the same as this site. RareSportBikesForSale.com will allow me to feature the same types of bikes that are listed here, but also motorcycles that are just plain hard to obtain due to their collector nature, rather than just the history of title and import status.

My first post is an uber-rare Yamaha FZR OW01 for sale in France.

I apologize for the inconvenience of readers having to redirect .rss feeds and email subscriptions, but I hope if you’ve enjoyed the content here so far, you’ll continue the ride on at the new address by renewing your subscriptions to point to the new address. Let me know if you need help, I’ll be happy to assist.
