2 1982 BMW R65 LS Motorcycles For Sale Right Now

I had never heard of these before, but I saw this first one on Seattle Craigslist last week. It’s an 82 BMW R65LS with 45k miles that looks like it could use a very thorough detailing. He’s asking $3k:

quote from seller’s Craigslist post:

This is a great rare cafe BMW 1982 R65 LS model . 45k miles and runs great. Light weight with a low center of gravity make this bike very fun to ride. this bike is complete and unmodified.

So I wondered just how hard to find these bikes are. A quick search turned up this beauty in Salt Lake City on Craigslist. It has only 18k miles, the factory luggage, and looks fantastic in the pictures. He’s asking $4k!

1979 Suzuki GS1000S Wes Cooley Replica For Sale in Washington

I think these Wes Cooley replica‘s are cool and I’m posting this one even though it looks a little rough around the edges and has some running issues. But for $3k, it could be an interesting project to restore or mod.

Check it out here on Craigslist:

quote from Craigslist post:

79 Suzuki GS 1000 S, “Wes Cooley Replica” only 535 made, very rare, 12,500 original miles, friend of mine is original owner and I know the history, hand polished and painted wheels, lots spent on restoration but I have given up, to many projects, my loss is your gain. Have many reciepts worth $$$. Runs great except runability issue where the idle climbs when it gets warm and I cant figure out what the problem is. I have not spent a great deal of time trying to fix it. Motor is very solid and well taken care of. 30 year Suzuki mechanic says to try valve adjustment, vacuum leak. Should be easy fix, but I have no time!

Metzler tires
smoke windshield
ebc brakes
carb rebuild with genuine suzuki parts, float needles, pilot, and main
tail light
throttle cables
gas tank coating
vance and hines exhast, 4 into 1
oil and filter
air filter
plugs and NGK plug wires

Update: This listing is quite old, but these bikes are available for sale right now:

1987 Yamaha FZR750R

Located in Russell, Illinois is a 1987 Yamaha FZR750R.  This example shows only 2,596 original miles and looks to be in excellent condition with a clean title.  Examine this homologation special on eBay here.

Also, located in Austin, Texas is another 1987 FZR750R.  This example has less than 8k miles, been kept in a climate controlled garage, but has been sitting and will need to be gone through.  Asking price is $4,500.  See the Craigslist ad here.

1994 Honda RVF400R NC35

Located in Massachusetts is a track prepared 1994 Honda RVF400R NC35.  The bike has no title and is far from street legal with supposedly $10k invested in it.  This NC35 looks like it needs to be gone through before it hits the track again, the seller doesn’t mention the last time it was run but mentions that it only has 5300km–the odometer shows 14532km.  This would be quite a capable track bike once cleaned up and gone through.  See the eBay ad here.

1992 Kawasaki KR1S

If you’re looking for a rare, two-stroke, sport bike and think that NSRs and RGVs are too prevalent: we have for you a 1992 Kawasaki KR1S located in Austell, Georgia.  The seller doesn’t mention much about condition, or title, but provides contact information to follow up on and it is looks to be a pretty complete street bike–shown without exhaust or lower faring fitted.  The seller is asking $5,800 for a very, very rare (at least in the U.S.) Kawasaki.  See the WERA forum thread here.

1985 Yamaha RD500

Located in La Palma, California is a 1985 Yamaha RD500LC that only need some minor work to be complete.  This two owner RD500 shows only 3916km (2433mi) and only has 400mi since a “…frame off mechanical restoration.”  Supposedly the bike has mechanically been completely gone through and only need some minor cosmetic touches to complete it.

Cylinders were honed and ports chamfered. New oem rings, wrist pins and clips installed. Every seal, gasket and o-ring was replaced along with oil injector lines. Brakes were completely rebuilt including master cylinders, calipers (fitted with EBC HH pads) and rotors resurfaced. All wheel bearings were replaced with new sealed bearings

This RD500 needs some cosmetic replacement parts, most importantly the exhaust and fairings, to become a very nice, low mileage bike.  The bike is titled and registered in California. Seller is also a forum member so contact him through that site or through the eBay ad here.

1991 Suzuki RGV250 VJ22

Located in Chico, California is a very good looking 1991 Suzuki RGV250.  The VJ22s reportedly have 62hp on tap and weigh less that 150kg, making them a very quick and nimble sport bike.  This example is plated and registered in California, retains the oil injection system, has newer pilot powers, arrow exhaust and the top end was done at 18k kilometers–but does not mention current odometer reading.  The seller mentions some light nicks and scratches, but regardless, I say this is fairly priced at $6,000.  If you’d like to beat up much larger displacement bikes, see the Craigslist ad here.

1990 Honda NS50F

Located near Lexington, Ohio is a 1990 Honda NS50F.  This mini bike could be a riot, but with drum brakes and wire wheels, don’t expect it to be a rocket.  I love the colors and the overall design however, definitely something fun for around the pits or town.  See a one year only Honda with 2,350 miles on eBay here.
