1986 Suzuki RG500 Gamma

Located in Eugene, Oregon is a rare 1986 Suzuki RG500 Gamma with 18,750 miles.  This bike looks to be in good condition with possibly non-standard paint.  Recent service mentioned from a seven year owner, but, also mentions that the top end may be going and it also needs a battery.  This RG is priced at $12,500 which would seem to be market correct but the decals and, most importantly, the engine would need to be investigated.  See the Craigslist ad here.

1989 Yamaha FZR400

Located in Sammamish, Washington is a very clean 1989 Yamaha FZR400 with 28,073 original miles.  This bike looks very clean, only needing a slight detail to become a perfect example.  This bike only looks to have a period correct aftermarket exhaust and colored windshield deviating from stock.  See one of the best examples of the FZR400 series on eBay here.

Two Rare Ducati Superbikes For Sale: 916SPS and 996R

Motorcycle classified shopping is so good the second half of the season! Folks have got their last rides in, or realized that another summer has passed without riding again, and all of the sudden the market it flooded with sweet rides. I think there’s actually more on the market now than there is in the spring!

For instance, check out this beautiful 916SPS for sale with only 4500 miles!

Ducati 916SPS For SaleDucati 916SPS For Sale

quote from seller’s eBay listing:

An original example, never raced , never down. The 916 introduced in 1994 had an engine that was derived from the 851 which began life in 1987. The increased displacement and resulting horsepower gains over the ensuing years made the original engine cases fragile. In 1997 Ducati introduced a new engine with stronger cases. The AMA considered this a new motorcycle and required that twenty-five machines be sold for it to be homologated. This motorcycle is one of the twenty-five that were brought into the country for homologation, and is one of the ten that Ferracchi sold. The motorcycle was delivered with both a street legal exhaust system and a Termignoni system with the corresponding e-prom . The motorcycle comes with complete records including the Dynamometer run that Ferracci did prior to delivery. Included are the original wheels and tires, which have only been run on the Dynamometer. Marchesni magnesium wheels are on the motorcycle now. All original parts are included as well as an extra set of body panels.

Need something even more special? How about a Ducati 996R for sale with only 1 mile!

quote from seller’s eBay listing:

Rare 996R, the real deal, for the discriminating Ducati collector. Beautiful and historic this is one of the finest examples on the iconic superbike know to exist in the world.

A must have collection piece for the true Ducatisi or motorcycle museum curator.

This is a unique opportunity. Never ridden, never raced, no road use. A perfect example of Ducati’s legendary 996R Superbike. This bike is a critical step in the bloodline of Ducati’s racing leadership.

A real 2001 996 R, no headlights, no taillight, and faded factory shipping stickers remain on the twin headlight infills on the gorgeous carbon fiber fairing. Ducati 996R in full clear coated carbon fiber emerge from the red paint showing the world the fairings’ composition. Two frame labels denote that this machine is for racing use only.

he bike is truly beautiful. It is part of the lineage of the most iconic sport bikes ever designed. Its’ monoposto tail section with painted number plate, gold pinstriping, and grillwork are spectacular. Front and rear Ohlins suspension and an Ohlins steering dampener overtly display the quality components built into this bike. This 2001 996R has spent its life in an artistic collector’s home on a track stand. It is as close to factory original condition as is possible.

The 916SPS is a bit more of a standout to me as it has tons of trick and exclusive parts, but doesn’t do away with the headlights, indicators, etc… But as a piece of art in the house on the winning lotto day, well then that 996R would certainly fit the bill!

Have a good weekend everyone and ride safe!

Two Sharp and Original 1986 Suzuki GSX-R 750’s For Sale Right Now

Dave wrote me a couple days ago and asked about 86-87 GSX-R’s. They’re out there, but many are beaten to within an inch of their life or heavily modified. Not my cup of tea. But these two are, and very reasonably priced to boot!

1986 Suzuki GSX R 750 on Dallas Craigslist for $2700 and 24k miles:

1986 Suzuki GSX-R 750 For Sale in Dallas, TX Red and Black1986 Suzuki GSX-R 750 For Sale in Dallas, TX Red and Black

quote from Dallas Craigs ad:

Up for sale is an original Suzuki GSX R 750 with 24407 miles. This was the first year for the GSX R 750, with a little work this bike could be a nice example of a classic. The bike is in good shape for its age, but the carburetors will need a little attention to get it running good. Bike comes with some extra body work and the stock exhaust system. First $2700 cash gets a classic machine.

1986 Suzuki GSXR 750 For Sale on New Hampshire Craigslist for $2999 and 36k miles:

quote from NH Craigslist ad:

Last chance to own a classic sports bike in this condition. The bike has been through the shop, with the following done. Tune up, oil change, and chain & sprockets. Red & Blk 36k Has a Vance & Hines exhaust.

I’ll keep my eyes peeled for more Dave, but these look pretty promising!

1992 Ducati Superbike 851 For Sale in Virginia

I do love me some 851 goodness, and this one looks really good! With under 10k miles on this 17 year old superbike, it looks to be in phenomenal condition! Take a look here on eBay where the starting bid is $5000:

1992 Ducati 851 Superbike For Sale in Virginia1992 Ducati 851 Superbike For Sale in Virginia1992 Ducati 851 Superbike For Sale in Virginia1992 Ducati 851 Superbike For Sale in Virginia

quote from the seller’s listing:

Very rare 1992 ducati 851. This bike has alot of upgrades including lots of carbon fiber, Marchisini wheels, floating brake rotors and much more. This bike is mint and part of a collection, it was always kept indoors and always maintened properly. Look at the pics and you will see that a bike like this does not come for sale very often. This is a no reserve sale and a 7 day auction so someone will get this beautiful bike at a great price. If you know Ducati you know how great this bikes are and know the upgrades made by the factory for this 2nd generation of 851.

This bike excites me for a few reasons. For starters it has very tasteful modifications and the condition looks really good. It’s also part of a collection as the pictures tell the real story. Check out all the other Duc’s in the background. And I do believe that’s a late model Testarossa in the same garage.

I think it’s getting close to time to sell my 750SS and upgrade. These 851 and 888’s that have been coming up are really making me consider it!
