Here’s your chance to buy a practically new Ducati 996 Mono. The MSRP on these in 2001 was around $17k from what I can find on the web. This one is significantly less with an asking price of $7k.

quote from seller’s listing:
Completely showroom stock with the exception of a new set of Dunlop Q2s that I had installed last month because the factory stock tires were getting hard. Full Ducati dealer inspection and fresh fluids/ belts changed by Pro-Italia 50 miles ago. Pictures were taken yesterday.
It’s very hard to find a 996 in this original condition and with these low miles.
Includes both keys, manuals, cover, rear stand, tool kit & all records since day one.
Clean California title of course. Bike needs nothing but a new home.
If you have been looking for a really nice example of a 748-996 and appreciate the early model superbike lines & Ducati’s special era when elite bikes like this were elusive in most circles then this example is for you. I’m a 45 year old Aerospace Engineer that takes care of everything I own so there will be no disappointments with this next to new bike.
I was in the market for a 748-996 variant myself in 2010 and they are not easy to find unmolested. But this really takes the cake. For comparison, the 996 I went to look at this past fall had about 9k miles on the clock and the seller was firm at $6500. That bike was ridden hard and put away wet, so I walked. If I had rolled up on this example and it all checked out, I guarantee it would’ve been in my garage that same night! I would be shocked if this bike lasted more than a couple weeks and expect with the early spring fever kicking in for most, it will be gone in a few days.

I saw this 996 today on your web site and thought it would be a nice drive to Santa Barbra to just take a look. My wife said she was sick of motorcycles and if I left, she would not be here when I got back. When I came home (with the 996), she was gone. I’m really going to miss her. This Ducati is really nice (926 miles like new) and is exactly how the owner said it was. You people have no decency and are very ill. Please take this site down….you’re killing me 🙂 It looks great in the garage, you should see it.
Steve,
Here at RSBFS we’re sorry to hear about your wife, but glad you’ve been able to fill the void with this delicious redhead! Congrats on the purchase and thanks for the kudos!
