RSBFS Meet-up at the Seattle International Motorcycle Show next Saturday!

Update 12.11.09 11:00pm: We’re going to be late due to some rare freezing rain in the Willamette Valley. We might miss our own meet-up, but enjoy the show!

We’re going to the Seattle show next Saturday and going to meet up with the guys from VFR Discussion Forum at the Pyramid Ale House. Here are the details from the VFR thread:

The show this year is the 11-13 of December. Show info is at: http://www.motorcycleshows.com/Seattle

Let’s meet up again for lunch on Saturday the 12th at the new VFR (or where it ought to be, Honda) at 1:30pm, then head over to the Pyramid Alehouse. I’ve reserved the back room from 2-4pm. That’ll give everyone 4 hours to numb their minds on bikes before a heavy lunch with beer.

Our group is listed under “VFRD”, so give them that at the front when you come into the Alehouse. In the past there has been a bit of confusion, so be ready with my name also, Keith Matteson.

I went last year with my buddies Paul and Scott and had an absolute blast. This year I think there are 6 or 7 of us meeting up there to enjoy the show! Most bikes are available to try on, there’s a huge vendor area, and there was a cool trials bike demonstration too. Naturally we’re geeked to go up again this year and I’m inviting any of our readers to meet-up with us. I know we’ve got lots of readers in the Seattle area, so come on out and I’ll buy you a beer!

Here are my crappy snap-shots from last year:

See you next Saturday,

Exciting Exclusive: Collection of 17 Rare, Exotic, and Low Mileage Bikes Soon to be For Sale

Update 1.8.2010: Rory has sent us an update on the remaining bikes. Please contact Rory at vtauto@sbcglobal.net for further information about the remaining bikes available for sale in the collection.

Rory and his business partner have contacted Rare Sport Bikes For Sale to alert of us of a collection of 17 bikes that will soon be for sale.

His message included the following details:

My business partner, Lee and I are trying to help his neighbor sell the bikes owned by her late husband. The 17 bikes that are left to sell are primarily sport bikes and they are all somewhat special in one way or another: Limited Editions, grey market, low (or no) mileage, etc. It’s taking some time for the widow to have the bikes re-titled in her name, but we are now getting to the point where we need to figure out how to find buyers looking for the somewhat unusual bike.

And here is the list I was given:

Bike Model Year Mileage Notes
Honda V45 1983 9.8
Norton 810 Dunstall 1972 1983
Ducati 888 SPO 1993 2031
Yamaha FZR 750 RR km 1052
Benelli TRE 2004 2
Yamaha R1 SE 2006 0
Ducati 851 Tricolore NA
MV F4 2000 426 Serial number 10000
Ducati 916 SPS 6059
Yamaha R1 2001 18137
Bimota Tesi ?
Ducati F1 km 5234
Moto Guzzi Daytona R 1996 km 21421
Yam RZ500 1984 5571
Honda RC45 3718
Yamaha R7 3646 km
Yamaha (R1?) 2005 17 Race prepped

Clearly a collector with discerning taste, and pieces that match our theme here perfectly. Please leave a comment below if you’d like to see a particular piece of this collection processed sooner than later.

Thanks for contacting us Rory. Looking forward to seeing this collection go to new homes! I’m wish I was reckless enough to consider a second mortgage and the penalties on draining my retirement to get in line for some of these!

1996 Honda Repsol NSR 250 SP MC28 #143 For Sale

1996 Honda NSR250 SP MC28 For Sale Repsol Replica Perfect

Gary’s 1996 Honda NSR250SP is our first ever featured listing. I’m especially proud to feature this particular bike as it is one of our favorite models on Rare Sport Bikes For Sale. And it is very special indeed with very low miles and no stories.

Here is Gary’s description of his 96 NSR250 SP MC28 which is listed with an asking of $12k in Los Angeles:

This is a real and very rare (especially the miles) 1996 Honda Repsol NSR 250 SP #143 of 1000 made, the lowest number and last year of the SP. It took me years to find this one and I have never seen another Repsol with this low mileage. About less that 100 made it to the USA, most stayed in Japan or were shipped to the UK because they are legal there. This one runs on the stock card. It does not have the de-restricted wire splice done so the miles are exact at 4,700 miles. Most other NSR listings that claim to have low miles are running the HRC card and miles are no longer accumulated, even though they brag “low miles”, but you may have noticed they have had the top rebuild, new chain & sprocket…

This bike is in excellent condition. I don’t ride it, it’s just for show. Comes with a current Texas registration title 03/2010 and bike is located in Los Angeles. Had the very first tire change in April of 2007 and only has 600 miles on them. Also has the original chain & sprocket, and no top end rebuilds.

When people see this bike it looks brand new. It was the 2008 Woodley Park 2 stroke extravaganza winner for best Honda.

I’m asking $12,000 OBO comes with factory Honda stand, extra keys, and brand new (never programmed) HRC 030 Card.

Surely one of the finest NSR250’s ever listed on this blog and a rare opportunity anywhere to pick up a very important and collectible motorcycle. Good luck with your sale Gary!
