1989 Honda Hawk NT650 w/ only 3,280 miles For Sale!

1989 Honda Hawk NT650 For Sale on eBay!

Yea, yea, I get it-
“It doesn’t have fairings”
“It’s only got 56hp!”
“It’s old AF!”

Pick yer panties out of your butt, sit down and read on . . .

These little bikes could and did! Check out the finishing order in the photo below from WERA D-Superbike Expert circa 2000-

That’s right- 10 years after they were introduced they were still Kick’n Ass on the track. Now, keep in mind, D-Super Bike consisted of FZR400’s, SV650’s, Aprilia RS250 and MZ 660’s so, the little bike that could WAS and was taking names along the way.

They did it with torque, low weight and a 5 speed. Wait . . a 5 speed? Yup, a 5 speed transmission. We all love FZR400’s and we get all giddy over the last of the 2 stroke RS250’s, but the proof is in the pudding so, don’t turn your nose up at my little buddy.

Let’s check it out-

I’m pretty sure you can flip that and make it 1 up and 4 down; removing the need for trick aftermarket rear sets. #RacerBoy Anyone confirm?

Ducati say what? Elf says “You’re welcome!”

From the seller:
Like new 1989 Honda Hawk GT. Originally sold in upstate New York, the second owner bought it in Sept. 1993 with 1,920 miles. The second owner sold it to me in April 2018 with 2,700 miles. I haven’t ridden it much, mostly enjoy looking at it in the garage. When I do ride it, it runs as smooth as butter, hard to believe twin carburetors can have that crisp throttle response you would expect only with fuel injection. The engine itself obviously benefits from counter rotating balancers, it’s electric motor smooth. Power is strong, it loves to rev, geared to be turning 4,000 rpm at 60 mph.
Tires have a manufacture date Nov. 2013. In preparation for sale, the oil and filter were changed, new brake pads installed front and rear, and a new air filter installed.

During my ownership, the color was changed from red to blue. Blue was only offered in 1988. The fuel tank and seat cowl were replaced with factory blue tank and cowl from a donor vehicle. The front fender was painted to match. Seat cowl has all tabs and brackets intact.

Engine starts and runs easily, battery was on a tender most of its life and holds a charge. Fuel tank is clean with minimal rust, gasoline is fresh.

Now that we’re clear on what was . . . How about what could be? With a little imagination, desire and a few Benjamin Franklin’s- this is what could be!

Or maybe . . . you could slap on some soft saddle bags, a tank bag and simply enjoy the little NT647 for what it is- a well thought out Honda.

Check out this NT650 here!

Cheers!

Bare Bones: 2002 Ducati 748RS For Sale!

Old MacDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O,
And on his farm he had a Duc, 7-4-8-R-S
With a moo-moo here and a Duc-quack there
Here a Duc, there a Duc, everywhere Duc-Duc, Old MacDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O

2002 Ducati 748 RS For Sale on eBay!

12 years stored and straight outta Old MacDonalds barn is this tasty 2002 Duc 748RS.

Caution: Track Use Only

That’s right boys and girls- The RS is bare bones and was delivered with only needed track essentials such as Ohlins, Brembo, 54mm Termi’s, radical cams, unpainted carbon body panels and a minimalist dashboard featuring a tach & temp gauge hooked up to a race only wiring loom. Not even a damn kickstand!

This particular RS has been punched out to 853cc’s and features a slipper clutch to help smooth out those hi-rev down shifts and to help stabilize the chassis at corner entry.

In Old MacDonald horse farm terms, I suspect a full on 748RS Bologna factory racer would be as high strung as a Thoroughbred in the gate at the Kentucky Derby whereas a standard 748 might be a trail horse. 🙂

From the sellers ad:
Ducati 748RS, 2002. Sold new by advanced motor sports in Alvarado Texas. All service and maintenance by ams Alvarado and Dallas. This bike has a STM slipper clutch,853 big bore kit and a replacement digital dash.Number boards have been painted on.bike has never been raced, trackday use only.no title, bill of sale only. These bikes were never painted from the factory. All original carbon fiber body work in perfect condition.Perfect for the collector, trackday use or race in the ARMHA race series.12 year old tires, bike has been unused for 12 years.

So, unless you’re a collector or have a white plate on your current track bike, I suspect this one might be better viewed from a distance.

To save you yellow plates some time I did some poking around in the RSBFS GoDuckYourself 748RS search motor and found a hand full of 748RS posts from days gone by. Check those out while you count your ducks eggs . . . but, not before they hatch.

Cheers!

1991 Yamaha YSR 50 For Sale!

1991 Yamaha YSR 50 For Sale on eBay!

From the seller:
The bike has Tommy exhaust, Douglas wheels, she is all original, I’m also throwing in the black wheels, owners manual and also the original gauge, this bike is been kept in the indoors all her life, starts up first kick and she is damn fast, however because she’s been in the warehouse and I have not had the chance or the time to detail her for the past year / half or maybe two years, I just recently brought her back to the house so I would be able to take some new pictures and posted her up for sale, so I would highly recommend to whoever would be the lucky owner to just clean out the carburetor and give her some love and care before popping wheelies, I have owned over 50 of these bikes at one time, in the past year or so I have sold 33 of them,, unfortunately because of circumstances I’ve had to thin out the herd, I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to sell any more wheels, specially these babies ,, I’m not a dealer I’m simply a collector anything with wheels and I wasn’t planning to sell any more but it is what it is, my loss your gain, please look at that pictures even though the pictures don’t do her justice but she speaks for herself, she’s perfect with the Tommy exhaust and the Douglas wheels she is flawless

I truly could keep on going about this bike but I am sure if you’re out there looking for these Bad boys then you know what this bike is

First up: A Tasty Ta Ta Ta Toomey exhaust that looks to be in near perfect shape and pairs nicely with the Douglas “off road use only” polished wheels. How’s that work in Cali? Meaning, how can this pass “road worthy” inspection with those wheels? Me thinks you’d swap out . . . never mind.

If I’m not mistaken, she pumps out 7hp and tips the scales just under 170#’s. She makes use of those 7hp with a 5 speed box and can almost touch 40mph- in stock trim. Should you have a need to pump her up on power, you can reach out to Team Calimari in Salinas, CA. They do all things 50cc and have been flogging YSR’s since they originally appeared in 1987.

I usually get a lot of Ape Poo thrown at me when I post these and those pesky “It’s not a sport bike” or “It’s only 50cc” comments, but if it looks like a sport bike and sounds like a sport bike- it must be a sport bike. Right!?

I found this nice walk around YSR video for you. It showcases the YSR without the lower fairing. The audio is pretty bad and I recommend you turn the volume down. Enjoy!

YSR’s have only increased in value and with a BIN of $7,800 they don’t appear to be coming down anytime soon.

Are you interested in her? Is she showing signs of being interested in you?

Check her out here!

I wonder what “she” would say if “she” could talk? Maybe she would say “Why you ride me so hard?” Perhaps she would say “Why you try’n to hide all of my sexiness under those cheap ass stickers?” or would it be “I like the way you rev me up!”
Add yours in the comments below- Do not make me regret that! I’d hate to turn the comments off.

Cheers!

But wait there’s more . . .

This same seller has another one listed with a BIN of $6,500.

2001 Triumph Speed Triple for sale with only 6,062 miles!

2001 Triumph Speed Triple For Sale on eBay!

I’ll admit it- In 2001 I thought these were the ugliest things on the face of the earth with those odd looking Wall-E headlights. I will also admit it’s grown on me over the past 20 years. Perhaps, I’m going through another mid-life crises or perhaps I’m just middle aged and bored? Either way, I can certainly appreciate a 20 year old machine with super low mileage in 100% stock trim and the headlights don’t bother me now. In fact, I think they’re pretty cool looking now. #Evolved

Have a look for yourself-

Kudos to the seller! I find it pretty impressive that they weren’t tempted to ride it more than 6,062 miles in 20 years and that they were able to keep the dust off of it. Very nice work!

These are 955cc 3 cylinder motors cranking out 110hp and weighing in a just a skosh over 400#’s. All things considered, that’s plenty of go power for an OG Hooligan bike. Did you notice it has a single sided swing arm? Pretty bad ass and rare on a nekkid bike.

From the seller
This 2001 Triumph Speed Triple is an original. The owner has had it for 2 years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend rides.

Short and sweet! I’m mean really, what else do you need to know? The perfect pictures tell the story- it’s a beautiful machine.

Almost forgot. . . The seller says it will need to new tires sooner than later. I’m guessing because they’re old, but in reality, they’re a mixed bag of Shinko’s and Bridgestones.

Do you fancy a perfect Speed Triple? If so, jump on this one before it’s gone-

Right here!

Cheers!

1986 Suzuki RG250 Walter Wolf For Sale!

I know smokers have been plentiful as of late, but seeing a Walter Wolf RG250 for sale is a tad bit more rare. What I mean by “rare” is Dan Crouch 12oz Filet Mignon Rare!

1986 Suzuki RG250 Walter Wolf For Sale on eBay!

Since it’s Sunday Funday I figured I’d entertain all of you young whipper snappers with some old skool kool motorcycle music.
Once again, Smoke’em if ya Got’em! Ring a Ding Ding!

There really is nothing quite like the smell of Techniplate and VP C12 in the morning to kick start your day 🙂

As with most JDM 2 strokes, they have succumb to some sort of oxidation and *may have accumulated some bumps and bruises in their time. This WW RG250 is 35 years old and the seller lays it all out for you.

Here’s what they have to say-

From the seller:

1986 Suzuki RG250 Walter Wolf

Oil injected two stroke twin cylinder 250 with a 6 speed. Never sold in the US, I bought this one in Japan and imported it a few years ago.

Not a show piece, but a very solid rider. I commute 40 miles on it a few times a week. Tons of compression, everything works as it should (except the gas gauge), no leaks, runs awesome. Newer tires, forks just rebuilt with stiffer springs, CBR300 shock, carbs rebuilt, new battery, new voltage regulator, belly pan is new and aftermarket. Has Mikuni flat slides with pod filters. I have the air box and left mirror (glass is missing). Has some oxidation issues from living near the ocean its whole life, which I tried to show in the photos. Tank is clean. 11,000km, which is about 6,800 miles.

It’s absurdly fun to ride.

The upside on this machine is it’s not a museum piece, has low miles and is ready for you to rip around town on. At the time of writing, the opening bid was a mere $2,394.00 with the reserve (obviously) firmly in place.
If you’re not familiar with Walter Wolf and the mark he left on the racing world you can read more about him and his legacy here. I know he left some other legacy’s, but we’ll skip that discussion and focus on this ready to ride smoker.

If you’re interested in getting your feet wet in vintage 2 strokes, this one might be your ticket for entry. Need more convincing? Check out this one here!

Cheers!

1995 Honda RVF400R NC35 For Sale!

1995 Honda RVF 400R NC35 For Sale on eBay!

Racing Vee Four 400R Okay, that’s not exactly correct, but some of it is. Can anyone tell me what the “R” in RVF stands for? The best info I can find on it is it was just a cool name the Honda endurance works teams used.

The little RVF has always been on my radar and this one looks to be in very nice condition. However, at a whopping $13,995.00 this one is out of reach for me now, tomorrow, next week and 5 years from now. Now, I am not saying it’s over priced! I’m simply saying I’ll need to get a little bump in pay from the RSBFS.com CEO before I can pull the trigger on a sweet JDM Grey Market machine. Please excuse me, I’m going to buzz Dan about that raise I need . . .

Well, my phone call didn’t yield a raise so, I guess I’ll get back to dreaming-

The RVF’s are a well rounded version of the VFR400R, but with less horsepower. Yes, you read that correctly. Due to some mid 90’s Japanese governmental overreach regulations, JDM 400cc machines were limited to 53hp. No worries though, because the RVF’s had all the workings of a true race machine. Fully adjustable forks, 17″ wheels, single sided swing arm and a very racy looking ram air system. This one comes with a very tidy Tyga Exhaust that is said to increase power by 13.5% with proper jetting and only weighs half as much as the stock piece.

#Tasty

1991 Yamaha TZR 250 3XV For Sale!

1991 Yamaha TZR 250 For Sale on eBay!

Smoke’em if ya got’em!
I swear to you- every time I see a new 2 stroke up for sale I shake my piggy bank to see if more money has magically appeared. As usual, it just laughs at me and says “NOT TODAY!”

From the seller
SERIOUS COLLECTORS ONLY PLEASE.

SOLD ON BILL OF SALE, GREY-MARKET IMPORT.

CONCOURSE-LEVEL CONDITION IDEAL FOR A COLLECTOR. MECHANICALLY PERFECT, STARTS ON FIRST KICK.

Honestly- Tell me when the last time you rode or wanted to ride 280#’s of 30 year old sexiness that smoked and made a bunch of noise when you opened it up?

JDM only Yamaha TZR 250 3XV’s:
-45hp
-6 speeds
-A scant 280ish pounds
-V-Twin
-Adjustable Suspenders
-Upside Down Forks

Yes sir- Pure 2-Stroke Sport goodness right there! Now, I know you’re not going to stomp anyone a new mud hole drag racing, but you’d sure give them a run for their money in the twisties . . . that is, if you dared to ride this one. Parts for these are impossible to find and since this one looks to be in perfect condition I’m guessing I’d have a hard time taking it out of the garage. I’d probably just sit on it and make the BRAAAPPPPP sounds as I pretend to shift gears using the Yamaha name as the gears. Yammmmm (1st), Maaaaa (2nd), Haaaaa (3rd) BRAPPPPP!

$15,995 is steeeeep, but where else are ya gonna find one? I know where, but it’s not available yet – Our friends over at Iconic have one on deck- Yamaha TZR250 3XV, but it has A LOT more miles on it.

One thing I did notice worth mentioning is the sellers 66.7% eBay rating. I find that odd because most folks who sell these types of machines protect their ratings at all costs. With that said, if this one strikes your fancy make sure you do your DD and ask plenty of questions.

Did anyone else notice the tank sticker says “3MA” and the windscreen says “3XM”? Tim, can you offer any insight on this?

Damn, this one is nice!

Cheers!

2004 Aprilia RS250 Challenge Cup Race Bike!

2004 Aprilia RS250 For Sale on eBay!

There’s no doubt about it- Aprilia was the little Italian company that could from 1994 to 2007. Undersized and well under funded, Aprilia built a near perfect MotoGP racer and landed the best of the best to put the RS250 on top of the box for the majority of a 14 year span.

1994 Max Biaggi Aprilia
1995 Max Biaggi Aprilia
1996 Max Biaggi Aprilia
1997 Max Biaggi Honda
1998 Loris Capirossi Aprilia
1999 Valentino Rossi Aprilia
2000 Olivier Jacque Yamaha
2001 Daijiro Kato Honda
2002 Marco Melandri Aprilia
2003 Manuel Poggiali Aprilia
2004 Dani Pedrosa Honda
2005 Dani Pedrosa Honda
2006 Jorge Lorenzo Aprilia
2007 Jorge Lorenzo Aprilia

It’s not uncommon to hear the RS frame and banana swing arm to be perfect in every way. The RS motor was also said to be near perfect-cranking out around 60hp while producing around 30 pound feet of torque. This combination propelled the the RS to a top speed of about 130mph and was a strong enough package to lure in the hottest of young European talent. As previously mentioned, Aprilia won 9 our of 14 championships starting in 1994 and ending in 2007. Granted, I don’t think us mere mortals can compare to the likes of Biaggi, Capirossi, Rossi, Melandri, Poggiali or Lorenzo, but we can sure dream- right?

The seller of this Challenge Cup machine has some serious advice for any would be buyer. I feel it’s my duty to cover it before moving on to all things pictures, fantasy and drool.

The sellers warning
Don’t consider buying this if:
– The only 2-stroke you have ever started is a weed-whacker. This bike is the real deal.
– You have no idea what a carburetor does
– You want to ride it on the road. (This is only for the track). Has a 15 digit VIN (ZD4LDA5004S0043)
– You need electronic aids (ABS, traction control etc). There aren’t any.

Thanks to my buddy, Jay- former RSBFS.com writer and guru of all things Aprilia, I used to own one of these and I’d always park it next to my trusty Stihl FS85 line trimmer as a reminder that I wasn’t a worthy candidate for RS250 ownership.

Now that I’ve covered the disclaimer lets check it out-

Low mileage: Check!

Shiny bits and true Racer Boy exhaust: Check!

It has a motor: Check!

More from the seller
2004 Aprilia RS250 Challenge. (The last year this track-only bike was made)

Legendary frame and handling with huge Brembo brakes and nearly 60 BHP from its Suzuki 250cc engine
This machine is small and agile enough to teach you great track craft without ludicrous speeds. You’ll out-handle and out-brake almost anything on the track and still be able to reach 115mph on the straightaway

Never raced. Only used for track days by mid-level rider. I believe I am the second owner.
Used a few times a year, it now has only 3,765 miles

Run on 100% pure gas (no ethanol) 91 Octane with Motul 2-stroke oil. Has an oil pump so no need to premix.
Gas tank has been treated with epoxy
Original body work including tank and panels
Front and rear stand included

Owned by motorcycle enthusiast with 40 years of 2-stroke experience. I rebuilt the top end of the engine with advice and spares from TheTuningWorks (UK) who are renown experts in these engines. Used Evans coolant to prevent corrosion.
Nearly new Pirelli Diablo SuperCorsa tires with about four track days of wear.

There are pictures of the naked frame and subframe to show you that everything is straight, clean and undamaged.

The Aprilia forums reckon this is worth $9,000!

THIS BIKE IS THE REAL DEAL! TRACK-ONLY! NO REGISTRATION, NO PLATES, NO TITLE. Bill of sale only (as is always the case with track bikes).

And there you have it folks! If you fancy being like Rossi and kicking ass at your next track day- I’d highly suggest you skip the clapped out 2015 GSX-R and pick up this extremely nice RS250. I guarantee you’ll have more fun, track side conversation and a much higher resale value when you’ve had enough. Oh!, but let’s not forget, you must be pre-qualified in chainsaw or higher to purchase this machine.

Check out this track weapon here!

Ciao!
