1995 Aprilia RS250 w/ Heavy Mods For Sale!

Is it this one for $26,000?

or

Is it this one for $28,000?

PP comes to mind on this one . . . What’s that you ask? No, it’s not the laughable word you learned in 4th grade. PP = Price Point 🙂

I needed to look at it again- that is one bad ass RS! We can see radial Brembos hooked up to some tasty Ohlins out front and another piece of Ohlins hardware out back. The carbon Tyga bodywork is on another level along with Tyga rear-sets and Tyga exhaust. Tyga hardware always raises the WOW factor to 11 on my scale.

We all know the value of the add-ons and that shit ain’t cheap! But . . .

Kudos to Remy306 for knowing their way around a camera!

From one of the eBay listings-

aprilia rs250 full carbon tyga
-Tyga exhaust system
-Ohlins front end
-Brembo gp4 rx rcs19
-Crg clutch perch..

Thoughts? As I previously stated- I like it and like it a lot, but the Sir Ask-A-lot price will def raise some eyebrows. However, if you’re after a decked out antique track bike today is your lucky day!

Make the jump HERE for the cheap price or HERE if you want to pay a little more

1998 Yamaha YZF 750R For Sale!

1998 YZF 750R For Sale on eBay!

This looks to be a very good example of Yamaha’s original YZF platform with good miles and period correct light modifications that includes Vance and Hines SSR exhaust, fender eliminator kit and LP flush mount front directional indicators.

Back in the day, these were fairly popular in my area and for good reason. They offered good power, good handling, a top speed of 165mph, racer boy looks and all of Yamaha’s exhausted R&D under the fairings.
I know these sit below the iconic R7 on collectors list, but I feel they are deserving of a place at the table.
Since 98′ was the last year for this platform, it would fall under the “Bookend” for reasons to have one in your collection. Unless you’re like myself and only collect pennies and pocket lint- at that point you’d have to flog it like it owed you money.

The seller does a great job of highlighting the strong and not so strong points of their machine-

From the seller:
1998 Yamaha YZF-R 750. Very clean near original condition.
-Rear fender deleted, aftermarket front turn signals, rear seat cowl and Vance & Hines exhaust.
-All original paint and plastics in very nice glossy condition.
-Bike has never been down or damaged.
-Tires are like new and just changed oil and new plugs.

-Does have a small dent in tank that could probably be pulled and a very small crack in the backrest seat cushion.

-2 owner bike

I’m thinking with 16k on the clock you could enjoy and collect it at the same time. I suspect if you chose to ride it, you’d have no issue hanging with your buddies newer DuHonKaw rRRrRR 2000cc

1986 Kawasaki GPz 1000R NINJA For Sale!

Scrounging around on the auction site this evening I located this pretty good looking 86′ Kawasaki GPz1000R Ninja.

1986 Kawasaki Ninja 1000R For Sale on eBay!

Not too shabby eh?

These were only brought stateside for 3 years and competed for the same floor space as the earth shattering GPz900 (Think Kelly McGillis). While you have Kelly floating around in your grey matter, I’d like you to multitask and ask yourself “Would I rather have a GPz900 or a GPz1000R?”. Well, funny you should ask yourself that because the GPz900 out sold and out lasted the GPz1000R by a few years. Spec wise, they were both a little pudgy and both made decent horsepower, but only one of them was the first production motorcycle to touch 150mph and only one of them was in a pretty famous fighter pilot movie. Answer- it wasn’t the bike in this post.

I’m guessing we have a few viewers (cough, cough) around my age that have fond memories of mid-eighties, full fairing’d (That’s Indiana slang) sport bikes? Should you fall into my group you will definitely remember the BIG NINJA as a head turner. Looking at it now one of my favorite things is how the Kawasaki engineers eliminated our ability to stick on those ugly ass LP truck cab lights! Thank you 8# Baby Jesus!

If you’re not familiar with how this seller works their auctions you owe it to yourself to do a deep dive because you might land yourself a deal and a nice winter project.

Check out the big NINJA here-

Cheers!

1988 Honda Hurricane 1000 For Sale with only 5,172 miles!

1988 Honda Hurricane 1000 For Sale on eBay!

Rock you like a Hurricane, “I’m on to you” by Hurricane, Cat 5 Hurricane or Honda Hurricane? Since you’re on this page, I’m guessing you’re more of the Honda Hurricane type person.

In 1988 the Honda Hurricane wasn’t overly sophisticated in any form except the fully encompassing fairing. Underneath it was a fairly slim double overhead cam, 4 valve per cylinder, water cooled power plant that could propel the big Hurricane to 155 mph. There were rumors of some folks pushing it to 160 mph, but I still raise my eyebrow to those numbers.

The fairings were a direct lift from Ducati’s Paso line and Honda caught some flack for it back in the day, but Honda being Honda, they rolled with it, brushed it off and looked the other way.

Honda used steel frames on the Hurricanes, which would give some insight as to why it tipped the scales at a biscuit over 550 pounds. Besides the fairing being able to slice through the wind at 155 mph it also made the Hurricane look cutting edge and fast while sitting still.

This particular machine looks to be in near perfect shape as it still holds a showroom shine (it also holds some pretty good company in the garage!). Having only covered 5,172 miles in the last 33 years this has to be one of the lowest mileage Hurricane examples in existence!(?)

From the original owner and seller
1988 Honda CBR 1000. I am the original owner. Very low mileage. Just serviced, rebuilt carbs, new fuel pump and fuel on/off valve. Always garaged. I have the original exhaust as well as a like new spare tank. The spare tank has a small mark on it and Honda replaced it in 1988. Bike runs great, better then new. Bike has a Vance & Hines exhaust as well as a dyna jet kit. This bike has been very well cared for and serviced it’s entire life. You will not find a nicer 1988 CBR 1000 Honda Hurricane.

This is one of the few times I’m going to agree with the sellers statement. This is a beautiful example and very deserving of being put on display.
At the time of writing the bid was up to $2,550 with the reserve firmly in place. I suspect this will need to be north of $5,000 to remove the reserve, but I’ve been wrong many times before and in today’s market who knows!

If you’re missing an 88′ Honda Hurricane in your collection- look no further!

Make the jump here and let us know if it really is that shiny in person.

Good luck!

Sorry, I got a little flustered and had to count to ten. Seriously though, cell phones can take great photos if you push the correct buttons. However, screen shots of photos are never your best marketing bet. #JustSay’n

Machine: 1989 Suzuki GSX-R 1100 Slingshot
Miles: 21,570
Gearbox: 5 Speed
Ponies: 140-ish
Tires: Not phat enough
Cooling: Oil and air (if you’re moving)
Rare: No
Cool: Most definitely
Location: New Jersey

From the seller:
Suzuki GSXR 1989 1100 Slingshot. All original number matching bike. Tires, brakes, clutch and all fluids have less than 100mi. I have the passenger seat also. Bike runs and drives excellent. Carbs just rebuilt and new battery was just installed. Frame was polished years ago and still looks decent. Has some aging on solo seat top pad and clear peeling on solo seat stripe, top only. Some scuffing on tree top where keys rub (normal). Please see pictures. Will not answer emails asking about low ball offers or trades of any kind. The air box is not available… Been looking for one for a long time. This is a rare bike which offers a great investment! Slingshots are hard to come by so don’t miss out on bidding for this 9 out of 10 killer bike.

There- That’s all you wanted to see anyway 🙂

It’s pretty hard to tell from the pictures supplied, but this one looks to be a touch lower than “9 out of 10 killer bike”. I’m thinking 7, but again, you’ll never know unless you visit New Jersey. Other than the flat slide carbs the coolest thing about this machine is it’s being offered without a reserve so, there could be a lucky buyer. Currently, it’s sitting at $3,000.

Let’s fire up the discussion and see what you all think of this big Gixxer.

1996 Kawasaki ZX-11 Ninja For Sale on eBay!

1996 Kawasaki ZX-11 For Sale on eBay!

I know Kawasaki made too many of these to be considered “Rare” and I also know it doesn’t have a fancy smancy “1 of 250” number plate affixed to the triple clamp. But, but, but . . . this one only has a scant 3,475 miles on the clock, is an antique 25 years old and is extremely clean so, in my view, this one sort of kinda fits the bill.

From the seller

Very nice ZX11, unrestored, original paint in near perfect condition with low miles and everything works as it should. A couple small blemishes, one chip on the fender from a strap that rubbed on it and a light scratch on tank

The ZX-11 was the King of Speed for several years with a top speed of 176 mph. It would also turn the 1/4 mile in just under 10.5 seconds, making it the drag bike of choice long before The Busa was around. Actually, the Honda Black Bird eclipsed the Big Ninja in the late 90’s, but that was short lived. #Busa

More from the seller
This bike has been stored its whole life in a climate controlled building. Paint shines like new, no dents, no cracks in plastic. Its ready to ride.

If I were to pick this one up, I’d pass on the top end capabilities and focus on some all day country road sport touring with the misses. The large, comfy seat and upright riding position would lend itself perfectly to my old man arthritic shoulders and rickety ass back.

But, first things first- if you’re interested in this Big Beautiful Ninja you’ll need to place an order for some new shoes because these might be a lil’ slippery.

Can I get a clean up in isle #11 please?

Check out this Big Ninja here!

Cheers!

Damn, you know you’re old when the once mighty ZX-11 is 25 years old! 🙁

Featured Listing: All Original 1990 Yamaha TZR 250 SP

Update 10.23.2021: SOLD to an RSBFS reader! Congratulations to buyer and seller!

If you have a bike for sale that would benefit from this kind of exposure, contact us for a Featured Listing. -dc

Location: Chagrin Falls, Ohio
Mileage: 17,540km/10,898m
Price: $16,000

Straight out of a private collection is this amazing 1990 TZR 250 3MA. 1 of 500 produced solely for the JDM in it’s original state. No paint work, OEM body panels, original windscreen, original turn signals and ready to roll (see video below).

In 1990 Yamaha threw every available option at the TZR SP. It came from the factory with upside down forks, braced swing arm, the latest YPVS offering and a dry clutch. It is very close to the full on race version TZR 250W. If you’re not familiar with Yamaha’s reverse cylinder design- the carburetors face the front wheel and the exhaust exits on the rear of the cylinder which is why Yamaha designed a true under tail exit exhaust for the ultimate Racer Boy look!

The seller has gone above and beyond the call of duty to accurately describe their machine with hi-res photos. Please take your time- browse through them all and enjoy how well this 3MA has been preserved. I did some research today and poured over the RSBFS.com archives where I could only find 1 other 1990 3MA ever listed on our site. So, based on our 14 year history- you are looking at a truly rare machine.

I hope you enjoyed that video as much as I did. There’s nothing quite like a 2 stroke buzzing down the road at 10k rpm and hearing the rattle of the dry clutch when slowing down- especially when you can do it without worry. That’s right, this TZR 250 is titled, tagged and completely legal under the 25 year old rule. This is a no hassle 2-stroke purchase.

Is this the one you’ve been waiting for? Will you ride it or put it on display?

2001 Yamaha YZF-R1 For Sale!

2001 Yamaha YZF-R1 For Sale on eBay!

Price: $7,995.00
Make: Yamaha
Model: YZ-FR1 YZF-R1
Mileage: 12,592

The good- It’s an early model YZ-FR1 YZF-R1 that looks to be in pretty good shape with good miles.

The bad- I’d love to see some better pictures- especially from a dealer that put money in a spiffy backdrop. I’d also like to read a little more about it

From the listing:
The machine that has won nearly every open class accolade since its introduction.

No really, that’s all it says- LOL!

What we know:
-Carburetors
-150HP
-80 pd ft of torque
-170 mph top speed
-390ish pound dry weight
-Titanium exhaust canister
-It looks bad ass sitting still

Maybe these sit well with me because I regret a bad decision in 98′ or maybe they’re just awesome machines that can still hang with today’s offerings. What say you?

Are you a Blue R1 person or a Red & White R1 person? Financial Doug is a Red and White R1 guy, but Emotional Doug is a Blue R1 guy. Now all I have to do is to persuade my wife in to believing I “need” this. You know, for mental health.

Okay, in all fairness, I’ve had a little bit of fun at the sellers expense with the (lack of) pictures, information and title. I suspect the seller will get a little more action after this posting, but they’d also receive more interest if their eBay listing title was correct. I stumbled across this one by scrolling through “Yamaha” listings AFTER I didn’t see it with an “R1” search due to it being listed as YZ-FR1 versus YZF-R1.

Anyway, enough nit-picking. It’s a kick ass machine and looks to be ready to roll . . . or are the dark pictures hiding something? Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.

Check out this Blue Bad MoFo here!
