Warning!

This post is in our archives. Links in this post have been updated to point to similar bikes available to bid on eBay.

We all know that Doug has a soft spot for homologation specials.  Well, mine is for race bikes like this one:  one of four (or are they selling all four?!) 2009 AMA Pro Daytona Factory Aprila RSV1000R race bike for sale by KWS Motorsports:

Here’s a partial list of the (very tasty) specs:

Factory Aprilia Millennium Technologies Team Aprilia RSV1000R
Race Weight (All fluids, no fuel) – 381lbs
Engine – KWS DSB Build – 138hp – 140hp and 79ft-lbs of torque
Exhaust – LeoVince Stainless Custom Race System w/Custom Ti End Cans
Frame – OEM with Rubber dampers removed and shock boss modifications
Triple Clamp – Millennium Technologies Custom adjustable triple clamps.
Forks – Ohlins w/25mm Superbike Valves
Shock – Ohlins TTX Custom
Damper – Ohlins Steering Damper w/Race Kit
Swingarm – OEW w/Pit Bull GP receivers and Millennium Technologies Quick Change adjusters and brake hanger
Wheels – Aprilia Factory OZ Forged Aluminum Wheels modified to 5.5” with Millennium Technologies Rotor Spacers for Quick ChangeFront Brakes – Brembo Racing 19×20 Master Cylinder, Hel Brake Lines, Brembo Reservoir w/Moto R Bracket Brembo (4-Pad) Calipers, Brembo OEM Rotors
Rear Brakes – GSX-R Rear Master, Hel Brake Lines, Brembo OEM Rear Caliper, Modified OEM rotor
….

KWS Motorsports is asking $17,985 for the bike.  A lot of cash?  Normally yes, but for a race bike with some pretty decent finishes and race history?  Heck no!
