2004 Aprilia RSV 1000 R Nera in Oklahoma Portland, Oregon

Update: 15 minutes after I posted this Nera, RSBFS readers have noted that this auction is a scam and that the motorcycle is actually available at Turn 2 Motorcycles (MotoCorsa) in Portland, Oregon. Thank you for the heads up guys! Links updated. -dc

2004 Aprilia RSV 1000 R Nera For Sale

Based on the RSV 1000 R Factory, the Nera was limited to just 200 examples worldwide. It sports a very subdued exterior but upon closer inspection you’ll see a package that drops the weight to 385 pounds with carbon fiber bodywork, magnesium wheels, full titanium exhaust, titanium nuts, bolts and fasteners. The engine, suspension and brakes all get upgraded as well. This particular example is slim on details with just 2 pictures and a description that states it is as new (5500 miles). The good news is that there is a current winning bid of $10,100. While we don’t have any sales data in our database for a Nera, we have seen asking prices over double what the current bid shows.

Legendary Liter Bike- ’87 GSX-R 1100!

Location: Madison, WI    Mileage: 15,358    Price: Auction

87 GSX-R 1100

87 GSX-R 1100

I love to see original, early GSX-R’s like this one pop up for sale. We all know about the legendary status of the 1100 with its bullet-proof air and oil cooled motor. So much motor that it pushed the chassis almost too far. These early GSX-R 1100’s set a high bar for everything that came after.

From the seller-

Her I a 1987 Suzuki gsxr 1100 never been laid down straight no dings or scratches. bike has a small flaw in one sticker has pealed a little( shown in pics). It has a Vance and Hines slip on and after market windshield. other than that this bike is STOCK. As of last week it had two new tires, new battery brake caliper rebuilt, master cylinders rebuilt, needles and seats, float bowl gasket, and all fluids replaced. this bike is beautiful unmolested  unrestored condition. 15,346 original miles

The seller describes the bike as stock, outside of the Vance and Hines pipe and smoked windscreen. Not too bad for a bike that’s 26 years old. Mileage isn’t bad for this motor as long as its received regular maintenance. The seller also describes recent work that’s been done. You’ll want to do your homework but it sounds like this ride is in pretty decent shape.

This GSX-R could be a solid pick for anyone who’s a Suzuki fan or wants to add to a collection or just wants a cool sportbike. If you can give this bike a nice garage to live in, go place your bid!

5 Noteworthy Ducati’s Available Right Now!

Since there’s been so much push back on Ducati’s this year, I figured rather than have separate entries for each of these they’d all share one big post together. Let’s start with dessert first:

1995 Ducati 916 Corsa Factory Racebike For Sale

1995 Ducati 916/955 Corsa Factory Customer Racebike For Sale on eBay

from the seller’s website:

As part of a larger collection of rare and high end Italian Motorcycles we have been asked to sell is a full-on Factory Ducati Race Bike. This 1995 Ducati 916/955 Corsa 916/ Racer Customer bike, vin# ZDM9165*004192*, 1 of 31, was built by Ducati for private use and sold here by Eraldo Ferracci in 1995. It was campaigned in California from 1995-1997 by it’s present owner. The bike won AFM Open Twins and California State Championship in the Open Twins Class in 1997 and is as raced condition today. The bike required a new fuel pump to start, but Hansen’s BMW of Medford, Oregon was able to locate the parts and be successful in bringing this very rare piece of Ducati race history back to mechanical life recently. A couple of interesting facts about the bike. There is no starter on the bike, it requires an external starting engine which is included with the bike. The other amazing fact is that it weighted 342 Pounds with a full tank of fuel as measured at Buttonwillow in 1996.

How about a Bayliss 998S with just 39 miles?

Or a Bostrom 998S with 6700 miles:

Ducati 998S Bayliss For Sale

Ducati 998S Bostrom for sale on eBay

from the seller:

This is a 2002 Ducati 998s Ben Bostrom limited edition super bike. It is built to commemorate Ben Bostrom’s 998 and is signed by him on the gas tank with a clear coat on top. There were only 150 of these built. This is number 115.

Unlike the Troy Bayliss edition with 400 produced, the Ben Bostrom edition is much more rare and only seen in magazines or online. I’ve never seen one on the road or at exhibitions.

This bike is totally fresh with a new lithium battery, brand new tires and fluids. Belts are fresh and everything is stock except the exhaust which is a Marving Carbon. I have the original system as well. Some of the stock highlights are carbon fairings, Ohlins forks, Ohlins rear and Ohlins steering damper.

Continuing with the low mileage theme is the 2001 996 with 1100 miles:

2001 Ducati 996 For Sale

2001 Ducati 996 For Sale on eBay

from the seller:

I have for sale a beautiful, almost brand new Ducati 996 superbike with only 1082 miles! I just had the brake fluid flushed, oil change and the clutch fluid changed. This bike is in mint condition! It is very fast and handles better than any bike I’ve ever ridden. You will not be disappointed with this motorcycle! Marchesini wheels, Ohlins rear shock and Showa front shocks. All stock except a carbon fiber tank guard on the tank.

And finally, the original 916 with 1700 miles:

from the seller:

You are bidding on a 1996 Ducati 916 Super Bike with only 1700 Original Miles, I have owned this motorcycle since new and it has been in heated storage (my house) for its entire life

Good luck to buyers and sellers!

1999 Laverda 750S with 2700 Miles in Pennsylvania

1999 Laverda 750S For Sale

If the refurb’d Laverda 750S Formula we posted a couple days ago had you drooling but was too far to pursue, maybe this stateside 750S could help with that itch. While not a Formula, all the Laverda’s of this era are pretty rare bikes. And they still carry lots of premium parts to compliment the parallel twin. This particular example wears the half fairing option and has been on display for many years. Having only covered 2675 miles before being put on display, the seller notes that this bike will need a battery and fluids before running. This one is opening at $2500 and has no bids yet.

1999 Laverda 750S For Sale on eBay

from the seller:

1999 Laverda 750S in excellent condition with only 2,675 original miles. This bike has been on static display at a local Quaker Steak and Lube. Be the only one with a Laverda at bike nights! It will need a battery installed and all fluids checked prior to running. It was stored properly with the cylinders fogged with lubricant to preserve it during its display. This bike pulls like a freight train and shifted and handled like the true Italian bike it is on it last ride prior to display and storage. It has not had the starter conversion done to it. The only things not as factory are the carbon fiber D&D exhaust cans which sound incredible and the upgrade oil filter assembly.

Not Perfect But Cool ’94 Yamaha YZF750

Location: Las Vegas, NV    Mileage: 43,000   Price: Auction, no reserve

94 YZF750

94 YZF750

So we at RSBFS like to bring our faithful readers the mintiest, rarest and most sportbikiest of rare sportbikes we can find for your viewing and purchasing pleasure. And that’s awesome. However, sometimes there are other bike choices out there for the many of us who don’t light our cigars with hundred dollar bills. Here is a case of one of those bikes. This bike is not perfect and certainly has the miles, but it’s no reserve, so you could own something maybe you want to restore for not a ton of cash. Pretty cool.

From the seller- selling my 1994 yamaha a mature rider and this bike is not raced or tracked just a is pretty much all original except for the windscreen the turn signals and the front fender.i still have the original yamaha key.the previous owner before me put the windscreen and front fender on years before i owned has a clean title.the tires are in good shape and has no leaks anywhere.she has 43 thousand miles, but dont let that fool you these motors run for along time and are pretty much bullet proof.this basic motor has been in the fz750 since can jump on this bike and ride cross country if you want.these bikes in this condition are getting harder and harder to find.this bike fires right up and runs smooth and quite with the stock does have a few little scratches here and there and i took a couple pictures of them.all in all a very solid motorcycle and in great condition for being 19 years listing this as a no reserve auction.i also have the bike for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early.all sales are final and full payment to be made in 72 can come by my house and take it for a ride if you would like.also buyer is responsible for shipping if he or she desires to ship it.if you have anymore questions or would like any different pics feel free to call me and i will be glad to send pics or talk about the bike.thanks and good luck bidding.

And pics-

Now, with this kind of mileage you’re gonna want to do all you can to verify the condition and make sure she runs right. Or as right as it can for the age. The bike isn’t 100 percent stock and has its cosmetic nicks and dings. But part of your fun can be restoring back to factory stock. And then have a cool looking ride that is rare and will be fun to ride.

So for the rest of us who would like to have all the killer bikes we see on RSBFS everyday but aren’t a celebrity or maybe an owner of multiple websites that feature rare cars (German, Italian) and bikes (cafe, sport) and such, here’s an opportunity. Make the most of it and get in on the action!

Northwest Two-Stroke: Honda NSR250R (MC21)

Redmond, WA – 15,000mi – $3,650 No Reserve

It should be no surprise that the NSR250 from Honda is a bike we love to feature here on RSBFS. These are grey-market import bikes because they were never officially sold here in the states. What can complicate things even further and affect the value is the fact that getting these things titled and registered can be tricky given the bikes previous registration history and the particular laws of the state you live in.

This NSR250 is an MC21 model that has been re-faired in always-awesome Repsol livery. The Repsol body work wasn’t offered until later models, so this one obiously isn’t OEM. The bike doesn’t seem to be perfect by any means and the seller states that it has a recent electrical issue.

From the seller:

Selling my Honda NSR 250 PGM 3 due to moving overseas. Motorcycle is street legal and has license plates in the State of Washington.
Exterior condition is very good. Engine and mechanicals are very good as well. Seldom ridden, and well take care of.
There is a problem with the electricals. Bike will start and run fine, but engine will cut off the moment you turn something electric on. For example, the headlight or turn signal. I do not know if it is as simple as a blown fuse, or something more severe like wiring issues. This is a recent problem, and I do not have the time to try and figure it out, as I mentioned that I am moving out of the United States. I have set the opening bid to reflect this. The bike is sold as-is, I have tried to be as clear as possible.

To any haters out there who don’t want this bike because it is a “250”, you might want to move on. To those who want something different from the crowd this might be your ticket. With 45hp in restricted form, a light weight and performance oriented package, and screaming two-stroke engine that will surely turn heads, its hard to find anything not to love about these bikes. If this truly is a recent issue with the electronics, then I would be inclined to believe that the fix shouldn’t be too complicated (I have been wrong before). This would make a sweet summer project to someone looking for that. If I had the cash, I would totally buy it. There is No Reserve on the auction and only a couple days left, check it out here and place your bid today!
