1990 Suzuki RGV250 Gamma VJ21

Located in Canyon Lake, California is a 1990 Suzuki RGV25o.  The bike is titled and registered.  This RGV comes with new tires, new sprockets (Front-1, rear+1), new chain, UNI filters and NGK plugs.  The bike does however need fork seals and is rattle-can black.  This has been available for awhile but it is a street legal RGV at a good price ($3,200) and would make an excellent restoration candidate or a great Pepsi/Lucky Strike replica.  See the bike on Craigslist here.

2000 Ducati 748R For Sale in New Hampshire

Ducati SuperBikes are obviously a weak spot for me and this beautiful 748R would satisfy that fix with ease! Check out this lovely example

2000 Ducati 748R For Sale2000 Ducati 748R For Sale2000 Ducati 748R For Sale2000 Ducati 748R For Sale

quote from seller's eBay listing:

748 R with stock motor and exhaust and currently has 6,392 miles. Upgrades include Samco silicone hoses, Speedymoto billet water pump housing, CRG billet adjustable levers, billet fork adjusters and billet breather. Carbon fiber front mudguard, rear mudguard, key guard, tank protector, swingarm and chain guard. Evoluzione license plate bracket with light cleans up the back end while keeping it legal. The bulky stock plastic license plate bracket is not pictured but is included. A Powerlet accessory socket specifically made for the 916/96/98/748 is installed allows a battery charger to be plugged in or to power heated clothing (using a BMW-style plug). When the bike is not used it is always on a charger and it is very clean and well kept both cosmetically and mechanically.

Belts replaced and 6K service completed earlier this year (I have all the service records). Purchased new in 2006 and it has never been crashed or raced and runs very well. All service done at authorized retailers in NH (Seacoast Sport Cycle and BCM Motorsports). This is a rare bike with not many left especially in this condition and I have documentation to prove the validity of the bike (copy of the original MSO).

You can get the Cliff-Notes on this special 748 variant on the Wikipedia page, or get all the details via this excerpt on Google Books from Ducati Desmoquattro Superbikes by Ian Falloon.

excerpts from the listing:

The Good
Only 5,993 miles. I believe we are the 3rd owners, and to the best of my knowledge, the mileage is correct. When we were riding it, it always started and ran well and never let us down. As of the last time we rode it, everything worked... all the lights, switches, brakes, clutch, etc... The tires are Metzlers that only have 2,000 to 3,000 miles on them. Cosmetically, it looks great with the exception of the small amount of fairing damage described in "The Bad" section below. It still sports its factory original body work, including the wind screen and the cool removable cowl that covers the passenger seat! Everyone who is serious about FZR400s knows that 1990 is the year to have. FZR400s were only imported to the USA from 1988 to 1990, and the 1990 model had significant upgrades over the prior years (such as the greatly improved swing arm, etc...). Plus, 1990 was the only year it was offered in the black & dark blue color scheme.

The Unknown
We have not ridden it in about 8 years. It is in the infamous "ran when parked" condition. During the past 8 years (and really... during the whole time we have owned it), it has always been kept in an indoor, heated and air conditioned storage space. It has no battery, but I can't think of any reason that it would not start and run with a new battery and a carb cleaning.

The Bad
The guy we bought it from was either the 1st or 2nd owner. He wanted to take it to a track day, so he safety wired it, took it to one track day, lowsided, and then sold us the bike. The lowside resulted in the loss of a chunk of the right side of the fairing. This is such a shame because the rest of the bodywork is original and looks great. He also scraped the right side engine cover.

in Canada ($4500, 9k miles):

Plate for the road, welcome to see the bike in Sherbrooke,QC, Canada

with 15 000 km (9000 miles)
This bike, when i bought it 2 years ago cost my $3900.00 and i put more than
$4000.00 to make it perfect. There is New Original Gas Tank and one side pannel.
There is a scratch on front fender back side.
Carburator, brake, tires, seat (front and back), mono seat, battery are new.
It start on first kick. Everything work perfectly.
I have all the invoice and evaluation price for this bike is more than $14000.00 is this condition.
Auction with no reserve.

These are all interesting in their own way, but that V&H FZR1000 seems like a steal to me -- even if the colors are hideous! Thanks for hooking us up with the links Doug!

1991/2 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-7RR

Located in Wenatchee, Washington is a very cool 1991/2 Kawasaki ZX-7RR.  I have become very interested in these lately and this looks to be a very good, original, example.  This bike has 10,244 miles and an asking price of $5,500.  The bike has some small scratches on the fairing but otherwise looks to be OK; it comes with an additional rear tire.  Thanks must go out to Doug & Phil for clarification.  This post is somewhat older, so see the ad on Craigslist here.

Update: Looks like there were some typos in the ad. Our sharp eyed readers are on the case. Check comments below and Doug writes in:

The latest posting for the zx7rr is not correct. That is a 91/2 7rr. Just in case you don’t know (maybe you do know) 91, 92 didn’t have the adjustable swing arm and have K1 (91) or K2 (92) in the serial #. 1993 and 94 have adjustable swing arms and have M1 (93) and M2 (94) in the serial # plus the square ram air in the upper fairing. Skip 95 and the 96 have N1 in the serial # adjustable swing arm and steering head and 41 mm flat sides vs the preceeding years 39mm flats, also 96 have the steel tanks vs the aluminum tanks. One more note worthy difference is the fairing. 96 were all green lower and upper with a purple tail section.

Thanks for the heads up guys! dc
